A ninja game with stylish combat and stealth in a beautiful looking open world with a sombre and tragic story. I’m actually fine with Ubisoft style games, and Tsushima is arguably the best iteration of that formula. I even liked Yotei although I think the story shat the bed with that one towards the end. I’d also argue that it has better sword combat that Sekiro since there’s a bit more of a back and forth rhythm to it and having fights end in seconds because both you and your enemies deal such high damage makes it interesting and tense. My biggest complaint was probably that fox dens get old very quickly, but at least that’s offset by the reward you get for doing them being extremely good.>>745879448I recognise a few of these, but my biggest complaint with VNs I’ve played is their lack of meaningful branching paths and the story not being engaging enough to make up for the lack of interactivity. I played Fata Morgana and in addition to it having pretty much no interactivity, the plot came off as tryhard, as if it was an edgy 12 year old boy trying to write their own version of Wuthering Heights.

It's just so great and more importantly, actually fresh-feeling in a way even the other new Capcom IPs aren't (Pragmata's good and all but it's a TPS RE with a puzzle minigame and buildcraft, Exoprimal tried way too hard for its structure to be different when a linear PvE co-op game would've been so much better).
