>>745874885For me the character design, world feel and music do a lot of the heavy lifting (so I need to like those immediately or the JRPG is automatically shit). After that it still takes me a while to actually get invested. Usually if this takes a long time my autismo locks eventually engage and that gives my enjoyment of the whole experience a big boost. last time this happened was with xenoblade 3, I was meh on the game for a good 20ish hours but ended with 150 hour playtime.
