What have you done?
I know Rise of House Telvanni mod has an option to destroy the Mages Guild, but even in that mod there are alternatives.
In vanilla there's no reason why any of those factions would hate you. Unless you did Trebonius' quest to massacre all the Telvanni councilors, but then the Telvanni would hate you, not the Mage Guild.
Did you steal something and got your ass kicked out of the guild?

Why do Staff weapons have half the damage of similar tier weapons in Morrowind? They are already penalized for being two handed, so no shield.
>>
>>745918937
Because their primary use isn't for attacking
>>
>>745918937
they attack fairly fast so they're not bad for applying enchantments. the numbers on every weapon that isn't a longblade is fucked for reasons that todd only knows.

It needs a hyper big mod that adds custom locations around the world. There is barely anything to see and find outside of quest objectives, the world is really bland & repetitive.

I plan on creating a relatively grand quest line mod. So far I have completed 2 out of 4 chapters.
Now I’m thinking of whether I should release the first 2 chapters. On the one hand I’d greatly appreciate any feedback, On the other hand I know as well as anyone else how releasing a mod that is not completed yet will look to the community.
Also all chapters will compound upon another, so the effect of the later chapters is not as strong if they aren’t fresh in the players heads.
>>
Maybe I should finish the main quests and fully play through expansion finally. On one character even
>>
>>745928554
Sure, definitely. But it straight up just has too many mods, so your options are either to go all in on some modpack and hope it's not garbage (can't rely on word of mouth / reviews, because most people playing modded Skyrim have shit taste) or spend 200 hours modding it manually then 5 hours actually playing it before you lose interest.

Fuck it. Mod questions, at least I will have asked. Could you guys help please?
I downloaded Custom Skill Cap, what would be an actual good cap? I'm a gremlin for going above the limits. Which is why I'd like a better Vampire set.
Better Bars and Larger Minimap OpenMW aren't compatible, apparently, I have to edit openmw_hud with what the dev showed in the post. Is this right?
Big Icon isn't compatible either.
I want to play an Altmer for more Magicka, but I'd be damned if I get a gay ass haircut, I can't find more where I can get vanilla hair for other race, different colors or not.
Would you recommend Tribunal Main Quest Reforged?
For Tamriel Rebuilt question, Hlaalu or Telvanni? Redoran is apparently not finished.
>>
>>745943192
I'd release a part that is the most representative of your game, a vertical slice. You can test if people actually enjoy it and confidently keep working on rest of the content after.
Otherwise, there is a big chance cool ideas and patterns you've repeated all over the project, aren't that really cool or fun to play and need to be cut or redone.

If you think about it, Oblivion is another iteration of Daggerfall, with loads of lego-dungeons and fast traveling everywhere as soon as you get a quest marker. It's get fully realized in Skyrim/FO4 with Radiant quest system. Bethesda can't let go of the idea of a huge map filled with tool made/procedural content. With as little handmade rollercoaster quests as possible, because those only get more difficult to make as production value, scope increases. At most add some dummy NPCs to roam around, along random encounters. Yet players constantly demand interactivity, systems, long stories characters.
>>
>>745948682
Aren't the house at Anvil, and the Indoril Mansion (mod separated) the best residence ever?
Just use Multtiple Mark and Recall.
>>
>>745948810
You'll also need to either create a new save file or fix the game somehow (I don't know how to do that)
Otherwise, you'll end up with broken doors and NPCs.
>>
>>745948853
oblivion was supposed to have radiant quests, there are still remnants of it in files
fun fact, oblivion is best TES game when it comes to tracking all npcs in game in all locations at same time, you can get actual faction wars happening while you are away

First because it's impossible to balance and you become a god once you're good at every skill. But that is not a bad thing in single player. Esportfag devs think everything game needs competitive pvp balance.

And also because they want to add replayability through classes and restrictions.

>>
>>745954061
It's a bad system. It only works for skills that are used frequently through normal play. That's why some skills will level extremely quickly while others are effectively trainer only skills with how slow they are. The armor skills don't make any sense and require you to do retarded shit like park yourself in front of a mudcrab for 15 hours, as an example.

It doesn't ultimately matter for Morrowind. The game is easy enough even if you don't have a clue what you're doing. Training is also the only thing outside of enchanting to blow your mountains of money on, so the whole use-to-improve system is basically supplanted by pay-to-improve if you aren't intentionally limiting yourself.
>>
>>745954061
It's incredibly unbalanced so you have to accept the player will do whatever they want and break your game. This is impossible for most developers to cope with

Because of the fact it's a big de facto Imperial colony in mainland Morrowind, some argue that's not accurate at all because the mainland isn't supposed to be a colony like Vvardenfell is and that in the in-game books by the Daggerfall guy it is explicitly described as a Dunmeri city-state and such, and also because the quests are kinda silly

>>
>>745959754
It's controversial because the lore is fucky. It's there because
1. Some ext dev put a cool imperial city there in really ancient times, like the early 2000s
2. The city called "Ebonheart" in Arena was on the mainland, and a major city, while TES3's Ebonheart is basically just a castle and it's on Vvardenfell

So, the concept of "Old Ebonheart" was invented to justify the random ext city staying, drawing from the apparent absence/weird depiction of Arena's Ebonheart. This is a dubious argument, since nothing in TES3 suggests that this mainland city exists or is separate from the original Ebonheart, and if it did exist, it would certainly be a Dunmer city, not Imperial. Worse still, the city as implemented has stuff that makes no sense: it isn't clear whose castle Ebon Tower is, and the Imperial Curia has not existed in PT lore for years. As a result of all this, the city has had people wanting it removed (to strictly match canon) or remade (into a Dunmer city) for as long as it has existed.
>>
>>745960135
The fact that he never shows up when the "Old Ebonheart is awful and should be removed and TR is le bad because they haven't done it yet" guy is around is kinda suspect, makes me think it's the same guy trying to start shit

I've gotten more dynamic RP scenarions out of my custom skyrim modpack than I've ever had in any other Elder scrolls game, daggerfall included. And I've put a large amount of hours into both vanilla morrowind, and Tamriel Rebuilt. Sorry you're just not in the know.

I've explored dwemer ruins and fought fully TTS/ synthed Dwemeri voices, and spoke to them directly. And they give you interesting tidbits of lore about Dwemeri culture, and the LLMs are smart enough to know the context of the dwemeri ghost/memory to not come up with shit that would break the canon.

Try doing that in Morrowind.

Traditional XP systems (should) work by incentivizing players to do fun things and then rewarding them, eg. You defeat a difficult boss, you get a big bump of XP you can spend on nice things. A use-to-improve system makes sense on paper but leads to some fucky incentives. A player might want to go out and do quests and dungeons but if they want to improve their crafting skill they need to sit around pumping out iron daggers.

The point is to feel more immersive but the system is so distorted in various ways it never felt any more realistic to me than a classic XP system. Still, it's what people expect from TES.

I'll be honest, the people who hate Old Ebonheart and its lore just hate fun. Old Ebonheart has just the perfect amount of silliness that feels real, and I think it works well and offers unique content. A large Imperial city in the region actually works well and makes the Thirr River Valley interesting and a cosmopolitan mix of cultures (Hlaalu and Indoril alongside the Imperials) and is ripe for all kinds of interactions. The idea that it's a part of Vardenfell legally and Ebonheart Castle on the island is considered just a part of Old Ebonheart so that Imperials could try and colonize the island legally before Vivec just opened the island up anyway is perfect characterization of both Imperials and the Empire's relationship to Morrowind. The city originally being an Indoril city so HONORABLE that it killed and burned itself down to show how HONORABLE they were, only to be quite literally replaced by Imperials who took the free land and wonderful trade port is also perfect characterization of the Indoril.

But above all else, Old Ebonheart s literally the city that saved Tamriel Rebuilt and its sister projects. Without its release and reception, nothing afterwards would've happened. That alone should give it some respect.
>>
>>745960014
>I was under the impression that later content were on the level of Bloodmoon
Nah, nothing like that. You wont be swarmed with 50% magic resistant enemies with tons of hp or werewolf-tier enemies. You can kinda get fucked if you are under-prepared for Khalaan, but that is part of Temple quest you get in Necrom as uber-elite totally-not ordinator. Stick to Andothren, Almas Thirr, and Old Ebonheart - more than enough quests there for lvl 1 char to set off into adventures.

Why didn't anyone tell me that N'Garde is the mod that redeems Spears?
In that mod Spears have some of the highest parry coefficients so they are damn good at defending yourself, plus most other weapons have a penalty for parrying against Spears. It makes Spears good at actually being a tactical weapon without just buffing their damage. Same is true for Staves.

>>745960658
You're right on all that but the #1 reason not to overhaul OE is because rework hell is what kills mod projects every time, 100% of the time. And OE is the most beloved part of the mod so far, so if it gets a REWOOOOORK then you know the project is fucking doomed. Allowing reworks is fine but they have to stick to bad, unfinished, empty areas that are not well-liked. Not the city that's the face of the mod and probably the best part of it.

>The city originally being an Indoril city so HONORABLE that it killed and burned itself down to show how HONORABLE they were, only to be quite literally replaced by Imperials who took the free land and wonderful trade port is also perfect characterization of the Indoril.
There should be more visible evidence of it's pre-Imperial past (or some butthurt Indoril questgives trying to plot a RETVRN)

Old Ebonheart is garbage. TR should replace it entirely with something else. At least Poison Song is going to try and address some of the issues with it but it wont be enough. There arguably shouldn't even be a city there at all, at least not an Imperial City, since Morrowind obviously retconed ebonheart into being an imperial settlement on Vvardenfell.

Avoid Old Ebonheart. Stick to Bal Foyen, Almas Thirr, and the Aanthirim region in general minus OE

The only reason OE made it into the game is because no one cared about TR in 2018. And now the only reason it stays is because it would take too much time and resources better spent elsewhere to unfuck it

>>
>>745960860
NTA but I think it has some of the vanilla-like silliness in some places. The mage's guild quest where you're told to just go buy booze. The thieves guild guy talking like a pirate. I think there was a guy at one bar who tries to fight you. The whole thing with the vault break-in is funny, if you enter the crime scene you can just instantly die. The bureaucrats who are just tired of this Dunmer nonsense, and the Telvanni sent a golem to talk to them since they're too good for that shit. The mad-hoosa shield the redguard weapon seller is hocking. There's a lot of little funny details.

Parry damage reduction, stagger chance, parry window, chance of NPC parrying you and pretty much everything about the mod is calculated from weapon skills, agility and other stats.
You still get shitfaced if your weapon skill is low.

Personal issue. You don't need max blacksmithing in one afternoon same as you don't need master enchanting in one afternoon or master alchemy or master your choice of weapon skill. It's obviously very immersion breaking to become a master in one afternoon but you made the choice to do that.

How? How is it distorted? If i want to be better at spear i go and hit things with spear. If i want to brew better potions, i go and brew potions. If i have money, i use trainers to get better at things. How is it distorted? How is it worse than nonsense of "i killed big boss enemy with a stick, got level up, and now can talk like a savvy hustler"? I think its just the case of people not liking not having choice. Unmodded: Morrowind > Skyrim > Oblivion
Modded: Morrowind = Skyrim >>> Oblivion.
Skyrim's saving grace is the rich scripting system and stability, plus it has the largest modding community. Mods fix literally everything. Like adding a shitload of extra spells and expanding the factions, the weakest parts of Skyrim.
Skyrim's base spells are kinda shitty, but it still has the potential for being the best magic system because of the vanilla support for channeled spells and mainhand/offhand spellcasting.

Like channeled flamethrower spell or maintained shield/barrier that deflects spells. It's also nice that you can cast another spell with your mainhand while channeling barrier in your offhand.

It's incomparably better than MW's janky system where you have to put away your weapons and ready your hands.
>>

>Mods fix literally everything
LOL. They cannot fix shit-tier writing, quest design, and world setting.
Show me a mod that allows you to kill Maven Blackbriar. Show me a mod that allows you to get into Thalmor embassy before Delphine gives you Diplomatic Immunity. Show me a fix that allows me to kill Ulfric right then and there in Windhelm and end the civil war without ever engaging in it. Show me a mod that allows me to kill Ancano and effectively skip most of mages guild bullshit questline. Thats right. You cannot. Because those mods dont exist. Mods cannot fix inherent issues that are in Skyrim.
>>
>>745963593
It's literally just a scaling problem. Spells feel bad because they don't do enough damage on high level enemies. It's a simple numeric fix.
>>
>>745962759
Of course not, it says right there on the mod page they go to the nearest "safe place" and if that place is full they go to the next one down the list.
It seemed to work fine when I tested it a while ago, and I didn't see any pathfinding issues, thought that could just be down to luck and not hanging around huge places like Narsis with 200+ NPCs.

In terms of actually casting a spell, sure, but Morrowinds spell effects are all infinitely more functional, numerous, and customizable.

Agreed but I am biased for Cyrodiil, probably the province Im most excited for besides High Rock. Theyre really going with a unique take on those provinces so they are not just "generic fantasy" while still using their classical depictions too. I love the Berserk gnome creatures they made for High Rock for example, really cool stuff.
Also for Skyrim as well, I personally like seeing these provinces because in Morrowind everrything is fantastical and alien. Its great ofc but seeing provinces that at first appear more mundane and then have their own fantastical and alien parts makes those elements stand out more. Anvil is a perfect example of this imo because it feels like Oblivion but the unique creatures and flora they added gives it lots of mystique. The Imperials also feel more unique than just roman larpers which is nice. Im excited for the rest of Colovia.

>>745960658
Very well said. Id also add that Morrowind is a very hostile province to outlanders without much foreign presence (besides Argonian and Khajiit slaves). thats different from Hammerfell, High Rock Cyrodiil and probably Skyrim to an extent, the human provinces, which would likely get on with teh Empire more. I'd expect outlanders brought it by the Empire would want to live together and the Empire would want to charter cities in the more hostile and impenetrable provinces (Morrowind, Black Marsh, Valenwood.) It is an EMPIRE after all, and all those outlanders arent necessarily going to want to move into more hostile Dunmer cities. They'd band together and the Empire would facilitatet that. Its the Imperial hub in the province its cool
>>
>>745965756
have you tried reading my post

Ok, let's compare the two magic systems. I didn't mention spells that both games have. Yes I have autism.

ALTERATION:
SR: armor spells are 2-3 times as strong if you're not wearing armor, letting you bathrobemaxx while in MW there is no reason for a mage not to wear heavy armor.
SR: has rune spells that can be placed as traps, like paralysis or elemental traps.
MW: has detect key and detect enchantment spells, SR only has detect life/undead.
MW: burden, feather, jump, levitate, open, lock, slowfall, water waling, etc. MW is the clear winner here, but SR's runes are pretty fun to play with.

CONJURATION:
SR has some extra perks for bound weapons, like banishing summoned enemies on hit or casting soul trap. Overall they are slightly more satisfying to use, MW versions are just simply overpowered and trivialize early game.
SR has reanimate, which can revive an actual NPC to fight for you. You can also summon a horse to ride.
SR has banish undead/daedra instead of just turning them.
SR only allows a single summoned creature for balance. If you hate it, then MW is better because conjuration spam is more viable. Otherwise SR conjuration is more balanced.

DESTRUCTION:
SR has elemental specific perks, like fire does damage over time and may panic enemies, frost slows targets and may freeze them, shock drains magicka and may disintegrate.
SR has more spell types. MW only has touch and target. SR has touch, target, continuous spray, rune, wall, multitarget(like chain lightning).
MW has damage attribute, weakness to element, disintegrate weapon/armor(only used for stealing), drain attribute/skill. The problem is that in practice no one ever uses these spells, they are expensive and not worth it.
SR wins easily, the elemental spell type variety is a game changer.
>>
>>745965663
leave it to morrotrannies to be completely ignorant and blind to anything outside of there little snow globe universe.
>>
>>745965885

ILLUSION:
MW has blind, chameleon, charm, silence, sanctuary, sound.
MW lets you just spellcraft stronger spells. SR crowd control spells are level capped and you have to invest into talent points to raise their max level. This is cancer.
MW illusion is WAY better.

MYSTICISM:
Doesn't exist in Skyrim, some spells are rolled into other schools. MW has mark, recall, reflect, spell absorption, alsmivi/divine intervention spells that are missing from SR. MW obviously wins here.

RESTORTATION:
SR has Ward spells which are like a magically maintained shield that gives armor and lowers spell damage. Arguably more interactive to use than just slapping some fire resist, reflect, spell absorption on yourself.
SR has some anti-undead damage spells that are restoration themed like Sun Fire.
MW has resist spells, fortify attribute/skill/stat. Forttify completely breaks the game if you abuse it, so having them is not necessarily all that great.
MW wins if you like fortify spells. SR wins if you like wards.

CONCLUSION: Morrowind has more spells overall, but some of them are either useless or overpowered. Skyrim's destruction is its main strength, all the new types of attack spells make battlemage way more fun. As long as you install some mods that make it actually scale against high level enemies.

Yes and he made them share the same mod install. The OpenMW version is cucked out of a bunch of mods and the MSWE looks and runs worse.
Just use a modlist built from the ground up with OpenMW in mind, that's all my original post was saying.

Can I summon a bonewalker in Skyrim? Can I summon a spear in Skyrim?
>>
>>745965303
Old Ebonheart and Port Telvannis are perfectly fine and in line with some of the weaker vanilla Morrowind content.
It's just that some of the other lands in TR are way better quality than vanilla Morrowind.
Port Telvannis mouth quests are basically the same brainless fetch quests that Sadrith Mora Telvanni mouths give you in vanilla. They are meant to introduce you to all the Telvanni towers in the region.
Old Ebonheart has some weaker quests like the first two Mage Guild fetch quests, but then after those quests the remaining ones are pretty fun.

It's such a sad sight. No wonder they put TR and PT at the very end, it would have just humiliated them.
>>
>>745966432
Can I summon a skeleton archer in Morrowind?
The list of conjurations are somewhat different, but both games have plenty of them. Skyrim's list is probably longer.
>>
>>745963698
Did you find any issues with quest NPCs? Or have they done a good job keeping people in specific locations when they're needed
>>
>>745965706
I am an outsider, but from what I gather it's probably the closest to vanilla Morrowind, Bethesda's writing, and it's symbolic of the origin of the entire project.
>>
>>745966432
Conjuration is so hilariously gutted and lame in Skyrim I cant believe this retard is even trying to compare it to MW
>>
>>745966757
So no I can't summon a bonewalker or a spear in skyrim. I just noticed the part about MW conjuration being unbalanced early, very funny considering Skyrim conjuration becomes shit as everything outscales the summons.
>>
>>745966149
>Because zoomers love 1000+ mod mod packs
God damn, and what's really wild is they aren't even bundled together either are they. They had to pick and choose that many individually.
>>
>>745966975
Apparently being lame and gay (balanced as he called it) is better than being fun.
>>
>>745967074
lol no zoomer would do that, they just grab the most popular reddit mod pack

It is absolutely neither of these things

Is the time slot for only 15 minutes for both Project Tamriel and Tamriel Rebuilt a slap in the face or an acknowledgement that they are the only ones out of all these groups that actually releases content?

>>
>>745967373
that's all they wanted, and they're probably right. the other projects just bullshit and walk around for an hour because you can't go and play them to see for yourself
>>
>>745967373
No, they really don't need more than that. And they show more than all the Skyrim mods combined in hours. Last year BS Cyrodiil was like two hours long and featured a live commentary on the completion of a single quest voiced by AI.

TR has enough momentum that all it needs is a "Poison Song releases after the show / on August xth"
PT is carried by its association with TR so they can just do a flyover of the WIP parts of Kvatch / Markarth and MAYBE a brief preview of Hammerfell.
BS has no standing and thus needs to dedicate hours of time showing that they have been doing something.
>>
>>745967684
I hope PT will show little more of the Markarth and Anvil update.

>>745968286
Assuming they keep to timings I think so. There's a 1hr VTM thing up next. Wouldn't be shocked if the BS guys run over though.
>>
>>745968393
i wish it would, but a big part of BS's problem is that they have """"""""""""writer"""""""""""" as a dev role, all of whom are cancerous do-nothing ideasguys who work with no consideration to actual implementation or parity with vanilla and throw everything out to restart every three years. these guys are also the leadership so they will never get rid of themselves
>>
>>745968553
The problem is much bigger than that. The entire BS structure is complete garbage. TR and PT have come such a long way and are actually releasing stuff because they’re genuinely motivated to do so, and their workflow reflects that. Skyrim modders, in general, really love just jerking off in front of the mirror.
>>
>>745968553
>skyrim fans in charge of writing and lore

What the fuck is Beyond Skyrim, where is Skywind at, I haven't even heard of this bullshit
>>
https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/47135?tab=description
I quite like this mod. I need to find an equivalent for TR/PT's settlements.
>>
Bet if TR gets new update live mid stream their website would crush, despite all the donations.
>>
>>745968553
This is one of the main reasons that 'writers' in TR/PT have to actually build the quest/book in the dev kit, weeds out most of the useless people. I think the only exception is for art assets where someone could do concept art for a statute and then a 3d asset person goes and builds it...
>>
>>745968771
Beyond Skyrim is PT for Skyrim, but over the course of a decade the only thing they've released is...Bruma. And it was just a copy paste of Oblivion
>>
>>745968860
Oblivion had some pretty good quests, BS Bruma quests are literally fetch quests for guards.
>>
>>745968860
Ah god, it will take forever, they have to voice act everything, dear god.
>>
>>745968183

>>
Recommended level for PT Anvil?
>>
>>745969012
They haven't even written half of the quests yet. It's a waste of time. The worst part is that they plan to release the entire province at once instead of releasing it in parts. Anvil may be mostly ready, but we won't see it until they finish the Imperial City and the rest of Cyrodiil. Bruma was the exception.
>>
>>745968860
To be fair, how long was PT just Stirk?
>>
>>745968941
That and since it's fucking Bruma County you dont even feel like you left Skyrim which is probability the only reason it was even able to be finished
>>
>>745969053
he answered a question about how Mournhold will be implemented in Almalexia and very shortly answered another question about whether or not OpenMW updates cause them problems
>>
>>745969181
The difference is that Stirk was more like proof of concept, and the full-scale work didn't begin until later. Same goes for SHOTN
Morrowind saw a huge surge in popularity around 2020 and that's essentially when all these projects started to gain momentum.
>>
>>745962396
IIRC Nesmith is like a TTRPG writer. He's probably used to the DnD approach to religion and thinks MK's multiple pantheons across different cultures approach is needlessly complicated clutter. He probably would rather have the 8 divines be the main gods everybody worships, the daedra the bad guy gods that evil cultist enemy worships, and then a couple of miscellaneous gods here and there to give flavor to one specific ruin or whatever
