Things zoomies will never understand
>>745919651Yeah they'll never understand CRT migraines or the bulk and weight of trying to move a 36 inch CRT tv into a new apartment on the second floor.Poor them
>degaussing an old CRT monitor
>>745919904SUFFERING BUILDS CHARACTER!
>>745919651they are literally over-paying old crts though
I LOVE TV!
>>745919651We had it so good bros...
It's kind of crazy to think that this piece of technology, once a fixture of most American homes and homes across the world, became economically impossible to manufacture in just a few short years. We will almost definitely NEVER see a company come around building boutique CRTs. The best we can hope for is a company dedicated to refurbishing remaining monitors and that's a stopgap at best. Once the main tube is broken, that's it, it's a 50+ pound paperweight destined for a landfill. Families gathered around them to watch TV, businesses installed them to do serious work, important information was displayed on them to aid in the R&D of medicine and to help put people in space. And then once day, some companies managed to make LCDs good enough for cheap enough and that was that.

>>745919651I miss running my hands over the static electricity in the morning after waking up.
>>745919651They'll never understand what it's like to have seasons. It's all just hot/wet now. They'll never know what it's like to switch off. They'll never understand what it's like to just drop everything and move, become someone new somewhere else. They'll never understand the simple joy of a finished product, made well and functioning without replacement for years. They're so fucked. At least we uncs remember what we've lost.

These threads always confuse me. OP, how old do you think zoomers are? Because I absolutely grew up with a CRT TV
>>745919651WHAT THAT IS?? WHAT THAT IS???
>>745919651>watch movie set in the 2010's or 2020's where everything else is otherwise modern>main protagonist has this instead of a LED TVWhy is this? Are CRTs just more iconic?
>>745922650Zoomies are a bit of a weird spectrum. The very very early zoomers would have been the end of the 90's, so CRTs were common. But most Zoomers were well into the LCD days.
>>745921493this but my dick
I'm a zoomer and I keep a CRT in my officeI wheel it out when I want to play old games or DVDsI hate to tell you guys but zoomers aren't all high schoolers anymore some of us are adults with mortgages and health insurance
>>745922748I remember when my dad got a flat screen I told him the picture wasn't any better and that's how we found out I was near sighted
>>745922791Please do not the TV.
>>745922847do you have broccoli hair though?
...
>>745921156It is what it is, what annoys me is that a lot of these new screens come with malware from the fucking manufacturer. In a few years I'm going to have to mod these things before I can even use them safely. It's going to be a fucking chore
>>745922975Nah just kinda longish
>>745922650remember how VF had a melty because witgod was saying on every video to only use the free pulls on the riko/rice banner because you needed KSB on the rerun or you were permabricked
>rub sleeve on crt screen after playing for hours>zap friendIVE GOT THE POWER
>>745923102the fuck is that filename from
>>745921156>economically impossible to manufacture in just a few short yearsand people think its crazy that the personal computer industry could dissapear overnight and we'll be forced to rent computers from amazon's cloud
>>745923237The file name? That's just how pixel cameras label photographs
>>745919651I dunno OP I had a CRT in my room until like the mid-10's. That was how I originally watched anime on the funimation channel. I think we might still have it, or it might've gotten flushed in a flash flood we had, not sure.I am 27 years old
>>745923051Yeah, it sucks. At least you can still get around it by just not connecting them to the internet. But now they're coming out with new standards where your Comcast router can make a hidden open network just for hardware companies that pay them, without your knowledge or consent.
>>745923247It's coming. I'm prepping like crazy. Pretty much all my income goes to hardware, cuts into my food budge sometimes.
>>745919904>CRT migrainesYou made this up
>>745923329I didn't even get around to buying a HDTV until 2020 when I bought a Switch for Three Houses. I stopped watching TV at all somewhere around 2013.
