The most well known ones did push the genre quite a bit, with concepts like multiple assailants and murderers (orient express, nile, etc.).Otherwise I agree, some -if not many- of her books can be middling or even bad, especially the Ms. Marple series, I could never enjoy those.

There is a reason Ellery Queen and Alfred Hitchcock magazines went in different literary directions. A proper mystery can obfuscate details but if you’re asking me to solve for X + Y = Z then switch it out and say it was actually Q, it’s disrespecting the reader.
