I played the first Trails in the Sky game and thought it was alright, but seeing maybe 30 minutes of someone playing Cold Steel made me drop the entire series. If you like these games then cool for you since there's like 4? of them but I think I hate absolutely everything about them.

Like maybe there's merits to Zero and Azure, but once the Rean train begins with Cold Steel you're either up for it becoming a bog standard light novel overtaking literally everything prior like an enveloping mass, or you check out. The only reason people still keep on is a sunk cost fallacy and the sheer insanity of so many characters and plotlines converging at this point.
