Finally, now thanks to a bagillion giggashits and LLMs shiterpolating frames, we can get back to visual technology from the early 2000s.

Correction, it DOES still work because you absolutely can still mirror environments with higher detail models and not lose exponential performance because you no longer need real time lighting and thus a massive weight is lifted from the available performance budget.
You can even use less detailed models and reduce the resolution of the image within the mirror and obscure this with scratches and blur to recreate the effects of a more diffuse surface for even less performance cost.
The best part is you then don't have to downscale the rendering output, and interpolate it back into a higher res to compensate for the fact that you're a fucking hack that has to rely on real time lighting to solve already solved problems because re-implementing the actual solution and baking lightmaps is too complicated for your blueprint-kiddie brain.

Works more than well enough on CoboldCPP and gives you the benefit of scaling total compute and VRAM capacity for more complex models locally.
What you should be asking is if the better performance from one card is worth passing up on the VRAM for two cards when you're going to get more than satisfactory results while being able to use more advanced models.

That's not even remotely accurate and with options like HipBLAS or Vulkan based solutions the difference in performance from one brand to another is not nearly as wide as it may seem.
Nvidia still has a decent ADVANTAGE with CUDA, but it's not to the point where their bottom of the line cards are outperforming the competitions top of the line.

Yeah. Framegen forces Reflex to be on all the time and most of the time I don't even bother turning on Reflex unless it is an option in-game so I was plenty surprised when I see that framegen on (at least at x2) has better latency than framegen off in some games I tested.
No framegen with Reflex > Framegen > No framegen + no reflex
Also where's Reflex 2
>>
>>745951415
They aren't fake.
>fake resolution
DLAA and FSR native and 100% TSR all do the same process at 50% res, they extract real details with the same trick anyway and even at 100% they still do the temporal accumulation which create the awful ghosting. So you might as well use them the way they're actually designed to work.
>fake frame
It always has a final ground truth to work from, unlike DLAA/other taa based tech, and also only perfectly create a single inbetween frame, which means no ghosting unlike modern TAA, so fakes frames are arguably less fake than TAA.

Huh? Every competitive games features it. I would agree that that the lag hit is still there so I wouldn't use FG for a competitive games. But you would use Reflex, which only exists because Nvidia was developing FG in the first place.
But I'm not gay, so I don't play those anyway. Competitive games are usually well optimised anyway. Depending on your screen and your base fps, it might still be worth sacrificing a frame of lag for better motion clarity, FG is still the only way you can run a modern game at 700+ HZ that some monitors can now output and you could gain an advantage by looking at a cleaner picture than everyone else. Almthough in reality BFI works better in this case but monitor brands are fucking retarded and hardly add the feature when even Nvidia did with Pulsar.

your experience with framegen entirely changes depending on your base framerate and if you're not a retard trying to use it without reflex also active and make sure the vsync situation is correct (they fixed this very recently, but before, framegen with vsync even if you have VRR active and hitting the max refresh, used to disable reflex or it wasn't applying correctly leading to more lag than intended/than if you were running unlocked fps within your VRR window)

The lag is there but it is in fact barely noticeable if you're at like 70FPS before framegen. I don't give a shit about your coping, you will not notice +5ms of lag unless maybe if you set up is unoptimised elsewhere and the total cumulative lag from everything is like 90ms for some reason (maybe a bad mouse, a bad connection elsewhere, a bad windows MPO setting, bad bluetooth reception on wireless controllers, a bad TV etc) and then every little bit of additional lag from here is proportionally more noticeable to a threshold you can't help but notice.

suit yourself luddite, but I will add that a vrr monitor running at twice the refresh rate usually start having less inherent lag too, which can offset that 5ms loss with gains of 5ms of it's own. It's particularly going to be noticeable on monitors with no LFC

>>745947686

Only decent thing about that forum was just bringing awareness of the problem to normies, and some people providing UEtweaks for games that use the default garbage TAA settings which interpolate far too many frames.

Literally went nVidia over AMD just to have access to DLAA, since AMD still has no answer to it. Even the shit I've seen of FSR4 looks a model generation or two behind nVidia.

honestly, depends on the card you have. Jewvidia makes DLSS better for their newer cards, the 5000 series in particular has the best version of it and it's the only one that has dlss 4.5 which gets rid of pretty much all visual bugs.

That was always the case since day 1 of oled existing.
OLEDs still have "sample-and-hold" motion blur just like every other display tech, and it's by far the main reason why flat screens are blurry compared to CRTs, not the "response times" yet fucking nobody talks about sample and hold blur because the way to fix it has some small caveats.
I say this as an OLED user myself, people just don't fucking get, the blur you see is a natural reaction of the human eye when it sees framerates so low, it's not because "the pixels are slow", it's just how the eye react to it because it's in fact this fast and you can see hundred tousands of FPS.
The only way to fix this is to trick the eyes into not smearing past frames into each others, CRTs used to do it automatically but not any modern stuff. You have to artifically add the flickering that CRTs used to do. That's called "strobing" or black frame insertion. But unfortunately is a very rare feature to find included in modern display and options are limited. This is also why an IPS with a strobing mode can be way clearer than an OLED without. Still only oleds can have a perfect picture in motion with strobing/bfi especially at 120hz+.

tl;dr, OLED is fucking amazing IF you use strobing/BFI/Pulsar/ELMB/ULMB/PureXP type tech (all different marketing name but the principle is the same everytime, Pulsar has the advantage of doing it alongside VRR, all the other ones need VRR disabled) but otherwise they're as blurry as the rest, there's nothing "sudden" about this I've been warning people in every damn monitor threads.
I'm lucky enough to own an LGC1 which can strobe at 60 and 120hz and 120fps with strobing is as clear as 312FPS. That's the proper way to use oleds.

Wish I knew more about this stuff before buying my first OLED. My LGC3 only does 60hz BFI zzzzzzz

>My LGC3 only does 60hz BFI
Yep, they downgraded the chips that were handling this since the G2/C2, which is why I ordered my C1 perhaps 5 minutes after reviews of the C2 were released and they found out it no longer did 120hz bfi.
I thought it would be temporary but they still didn't fix this shit..
At least you have 60hz so 60fps games still looks good, that's better than most.

Now that more GPUs were able to do RT, nowadays RT "looks bad" and you must use PT to make it "looks good"

Even after looking at the map for that area I couldn't figure out how they done it. The stacked sector shenanigans they added to BUILD for Shadow Warrior was to big-brained for my teenager brain, compared to the simplicity of Duke3d.

gaytracing existed before rasterization.
Framegeneration has little to do with ai. In fact FSR framegen has no ai whatsoever at any point of it's processing, and it's basically just as good as nvidia's framegen.

A moveable sector, maybe?
Still, I'm surprised at how many cool stuff some people do with this old, limited engine.

I said stacked sectors, not sector-over-sector. Shadow Warrior let you see one floor from another floor, which Duke 3d couldn't do without abusing a lot of sprites to fake 3d geometry, which you'd at the whim of wonky collision.

eDuke added some niceties over the original. You wouldn't have been able to do a mirror of that scope on vanilla, even if you had a Pentium 2 to throw at it.
