I vastly prefer exploring the linear as hell forest around Flotsam than "exploring" in W3 by running from question mark to question mark
I like RPGs that have defined time-sensitive progression (story-wise, not as a mechanic), in TW2 you travel across different locations, abandoning quests and interactions when it's time to move forward. this is even more interesting with choices completely changing that act with battlefieldfully open world gameplay always devolves into a theme park experience and/or ubishit collectathon

It deserves some credit, the branching path in this game is seismic and your playthrough changes significantly depending on whether you side with Roche or the knife ear.Only issue is that the game probably would've been better off if they blended both routes together
