i've been playing PoE since the first day of open beta over 13 years ago. i'd say PoE2 is in a pretty good spot, the new endgame is substantially better than what it used to be. but having gone back to PoE1 for the last month to play the allflame league, i realized just how much better PoE1's endgame still is. a lot of it is down to the vast amount of content, but another big factor is the lack of freedom over the atlas in PoE2. there is also way too much friction with some of the league mechanics (especially stuff like ritual). in PoE1 you can do whichever map / tileset you want and farm it infinitely. in PoE2 they still try to force you to run terrible map layouts that are all some variant of an obnoxious maze. give me a PoE2 where i can run whichever map i want over and over, reduce the friction, get rid of the stupid fucking tablet micromanagement and just bring back scarabs from PoE1.
