What do you think of shooters that feature customisable stocks for guns?Are they gimmicks or are they cool?
It's a gimmick. Devs needed another utensil to balance guns so now Wood Stocks give you more handling wile Wire Frame Stocks give you ergonomics or some dumb shit.

Battlefield 6 has the best gun customization
Tarkov lets you fold capable stocks mid match so you have better handling in close quarters. I could see them adding an adjustable stock if any game does

This happens in even the most "realistic" shooters that try to account for handling and environmental shit. Attachment bloat also often makes one weapon outperform all the others because the ideal set favors it. These more ancillary customizations are best being left out, or made purely cosmetic.

>>745951079Not a gimmick. I like .338 Lapua...but my shoulder? I like to have some cushion. However when I don't have a linear compensator, and instead I have a muzzle break to counter recoil direction then I don't mind a standard butt stock.
