Nukes aren't even that frightening when you really dig into the most destructive weapons there are. A nuke causes a lot of destruction but for most of its victims the suffering is over quickly. Bioweapons are where the real terror is. General Yoshijirō Umezu of the imperial army was against his own country using bioweapons in WWII saying “If bacteriological warfare is conducted, it will grow from the dimension of war between Japan and America to an endless battle of humanity against bacteria. Japan will earn the derision of the world.” But then even bioweapons don't measure up to the potential horrors of psychological warfare. Simply stated, the most terrifying weapons are the ones that are the hardest to see.
