I honestly don't remember most DS3 bosses, I played the fuck out of DeS and DaS and no-life'd elden ring, I got into DaS3 pretty late and I first tried half of the bosses, this is not about bragging, but I unironically didn't need more than 3 tries for most bosses. I feel like I ruined my experience, by playing very cautious and slow.

And I don't want to start a new run, because I hate the beginning in that fucking castle and 2 swamps back to back.

If you don't know about it then he can spam the same 2 combos which have almost no downtime or end-lag if you position in front of him. It's a definite skill issue but I don't think there's any other boss in DS3 that's as bad about it as Pontiff.
