A. you play as the top chick, B. one of the major reasons female characters are unlikeable is the player has to be presented as incompetent in order for the female character to shine. Alyx never really does that, at best she opens doors or hacks computers, which is something the player could do, but this serves as a gate to the player's progress/pace for some type of scripted event or exposition

I got to Lambda Core in HL1 and I just can't muster the energy to keep playing. Idk why I loved the early parts of HL1 but the longer the game goes on the less I like it.

The half life series were the best. Not to mention the fact that TFC and CS were objectively the best online shooters as well. The late 90s/early 2000s were special in a lot of ways. Fuck this gay and depressing timeline we have now
