I had to get a peerless assassin fast since my AIO died and it Just Werks™. That said when I do my next big upgrade I am sorely temped to go full noctua on the cooling as even at their prices it would be only a small part of the overall budget.I really like the look of the U12A even though the D15 is flat out a better cooler.

Any 360mm AIO is going to be better than any air cooler for the purpose of cooling because there's a lot of liquid that can carry heat. Imagine heating a thick pan (our air cooler) vs heating a thin metal soup pot full of hot water (AIO). The pot of hot water takes a lot more time to get hot, you could probably touch the wall of the pot if the heat is low enough, meanwhile the thick pan will likely be too hot to touch. This hot surface is what your CPU/GPU is touching, so you'd rather have the CPU/GPU touch the pot full of water, the AIO.The problem is if you use anything smaller than 360mm. Because 240mm means your pot is only 2/3 the size, and 120mm means your pot is only 1/3 the size. It takes less heat to boil less water. At 240mm you find competitive air coolers, and 120mm is pointless unless you have space issues.Also, AIOs are annoying due to a steady pump sound, but if you are sensitive to fan sounds especially if you run your fans at high RPMs and they sound like a plane taking off, you may like a steady pump sound over high pitch overworked fans. Ideally, you run a lower wattage system and have a large air cooler. But if your PSU is rated over 1000w and you're actually using that much, 360mm AIO is probably the way to go as it also keeps the heat from saturating the ambient temperature in your case.

I turned the fans down to a not retarded speed and probably one more similar to most people's 100%, or high temp fan rampupThe point isnt the absolute temperature it's the difference from the room.My room is about 82-84F/27.8-28.9C (room warming up from heat dump/pc case heat soak)This gives us a 43.3C difference, avg cpu core temp averaged together (tctl/die average/ccd1 sensors are not true temp values only the cores are)If you look at the average across all 4 sensor shots it all comes out to about 43.3C difference plus/minus a small margin of error. very reliable results.so again I'm not seeing the claim that watercooling gets just as hot as air to be trueif you want to run a ryzen chip at ~12.8 watts per core average under similar conditions and show me the proof, including your room ambient temp then please do
