Was Taven more liked than Liu Kang when Armageddon released? It's my understanding that Liu Kang was never popular despite being the protagonist of the franchise, and that Shujinko was even less popular.

Ive almost always liked Liu even if he was never my favorite character. Shujinko imo was underrated and funny and deception konquest felt massive back in the day. Taven was fun to play in his konquest because of the gameplay style but as a character he was the blandest yet but he had a Greek thing going which was semi original
