Soon......
Pure kino. I'm doing a pacifist run. My wife makes the decisions. Pussiest Adam I ever played. But fun. Saved Malik too, pain in the ass
>>745988327How do you save Malik as a pacifist?
>>745988327>Saved Malik too, pain in the assYou double checked all the bodies, right? The robot you have to EMP explodes and will kill any unconscious body that is too close, and this counts as YOUR kill.
>>745988405With sleeping darts, the stun gun and a whole lotta invisibility
>>745988303>>745988228Oh this hurt. this hurt a lot you know.I remember looking at the first trailers and being amazed.
>>745988228Shit game, made me stop gaming for 2 months.
>>745988450Oh, I guess I mistook pacifist for ghost. My bad, have a blessed day
I really liked the Deus Ex style of awarding experience/skill points for exploring and finding alternative paths. Mankind Divided sucks though.
still dogshit
>>745988494>picPISS FILTER!
Just bought it for my steam deck, I enjoyed the original a few years back but never played invisible war
>>745988548You can't ghost it and save Malik but getting spotted while non-lethally taking everyone out (and blowing up the robot) doesn't count as an "alarm." So you can run around with the stun gun taking everyone out without worrying.
Is it possible to play the original PC version anymore beside pirating or having bought it on release?
>>745988782idk but I feel for you because I decided to replay it recently by reinstalling the original version I bought on release. I actually think the game looks fine with the piss filter but terrible with it toned down like in the Director's Cut.
>>745988782i don't think so, they delisted it everywhere
>>745988873It's the issue with culture changing, at the time, people were too tired of heavy filters, so they decided to change that, but it turns out people now really like heavy filters again.if they ever do a remaster, it be nice to give an option to bring back changed features.
>>745989028i'm pretty sure there is a piss filter mod for the director's cut versionit's not quite the same as the original filter but it mostly gives the same feel
>>745988587>Mankind Divided sucks though.10 Year anniversary also, btw
>>745988587MD has much better combat and more alternate paths/exploration, which you say you 'really liked' from HR. The story wasn't as good, but mechanically it is 100% an upgrade from HR.
>>745989296OH THIS ONE HURT EVEN MOREAND ALL FINAL GAME TO JENSEN ARE CANCELED
One of the last good games released before the American cultural revolution that ruined their entertainment industry
>>745989404The Jensen developers got their turn, its time to let a new batch of schizos tell their story. HR + MD + 4 expansions
>>745989501Are you dumb? there's a lot of better games released after this mediocre shallow game.
>>745988228pretty underwhelming game. a bit tedious to play but great in hindsight. the china section were kino
>>745989580I should have specified one of the last good AA or AAA games
>>745988303They got the exact method wrong but they absolutely nailed that a new technology will cause major economic and societal disruption in the late 2020s due to a major change in the efficiency and allocation of labor.
>>745989827The cutscene where Eliza tells Jensen that AI should be used to ensure people are discussing things correctly fits pretty well with the change to ai moderation
>>745988228Take me back.TAKE ME BACK DAMN IT
>>745990798I never asked for this
how is the sequel so fucking bad?
>>745989827It's like our leaders look at all the dystopian shitholes in near future fiction, and say how can we make the world this, but gay and lame?
>>745990798>>745990875I miss the person I was back then...I miss how the world was back then...
This game is a shitty for-Console Plebs cover shooter. Huge step backwards from deus ex 2000.
someone said clanker the other day and i thought they were referring to the handicapped girl with the prosthetic foot
>If you wanna make enemies, try to change something...
>>745990930>>745990875
>>745991472>step backwards from deus ex 2000no one but tryhard contrarian retards believes this, you stupid niggerit also is not and cannot be played as a "console plebs cover shooter"
>>745988327stfu
Fuck pacifist runs. I am a killer cyborg and I will make full use of my cybermallninja blade arms.
>>745988228I remember having difficuties in 2011 end of August at realease (some university bureaucracy nonsense that almost fucked me over) but just playing the game made my worries disappear.
>>745992230I remember the sheer bliss of playing the leaked E3 build through the night (it stopped at the boss fight with Barrett, it was the entire fucking first act of the game and Eidos Montreal said of the leak "oh well... enjoy it" and it literally changed /v/'s expectations of the game overnight) until the red golden rays of sunlight came up through my blinds at 6am.
>>745988228Insane than in like a 3 month span we got Human Revolution, Arkham City and Skyrim
>>745988703You can generally spam energy regen items on yourself to remain stealthed while taking down everyone nonlethally.
>>745988228>>745988303IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD...BUT YOU CAN SEE IT FROM HERE
>>745992919;_;
>>745988228I want a new game where we explore places like Hengsha and Golem City.I want my technological dystopia conspiracy game.
>>745988228>we will never see the conclusion of the Adam Jensen storyI never asked for this
Human Revolution was a good game made by Canadians
>>745994282it's funny as fuck when you find that e-book that talks about how Canada became a technological powerhouse after the collapse of the US.
>>745994282Montrealers had a brief period of magic. All of Batman Arkham Origins and the DLC of Knight were made by WB Montreal, and most of the (rare) times Ubisoft made anything good in the last 25 years, it was Ubisoft Montreal (Prince of Persia SoT series, the good Far Cry games, Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six). They lost it though and now still make the bad sequels to those games.
>>745994558I'm Canadian with American relatives and couldn't help but laugh every time an American location seemed highly interested in goings-on in Canada. They truly had no idea.
>>745988587both HR & MD are bogged as both have infinite exp farm exploits>HR (directors cut) use quicksave & load overflow glitch abuse. it's an exploit bug that should be fixed.>MD has legit overlooked trick of infinite hacking your own apartmenteither way, you can farm exp to unlock all augs since early game after prologue>>745994558for me, it's vishnu's fall in DeusEx
I remember the trailer came on the tv while my buddies and I were playing beer pong and "I never asked for this" remains in our vernacular to this day.
>>745988405It can be done, I remember having done it both non-lethal and ghost simultaneously. Think you need gas grenades and lots of energy bars to do it
i would like to see the jensen story get completed someday but there's nobody competent left to make itMankind Divided development was already a gigantic clusterfuck and that was over 10 years ago, and the majority of those people are gone from eidos
>>745988228It pains me to know that Adam Jensen's story will never be concluded.
>>745991709Braindead jeet filtered by a game designed for the triple digit IQ White man. Keep crooning over your Gears of War clone saaar.
>>745988782Just pirate it.
>>745988782I got it from a key website a few years ago. Don't know if there are still keys around, though. I couldn't find The Missing Link.
>>745995673waityou niggers are calling Deus Ex "Deus Ex 2000" now? For what purpose?
>>745995945Because they're not real Deus Ex veterans, they're just pretending for internet clout on a North Korean doujinshi board. Everyone knows that Deus Ex refers to the original on PC.
I like Human Revolution but to pretend it's not CONSOLIZED ACTION COVERSHOOTER Deus Ex is crazy.
>>745996165I assumed he was somehow referring to Invisible War when he said "HR is a step back from Deus Ex 2000" that's why I called him an insane contrarian retard.>>745995673And Human Revolution has cover shooting but doesn't play like a cover shooter at all let alone fucking Gears of War.
>>745996248Are you playing it on the easiest difficulty? I only played HR on the hardest difficulty and trying to predominately play it like a shooter will not only probably just get you killed incredibly quickly, won't you lose out on a ton of experience from the Ghost bonuses and shit? Also, doesn't the game snap back to first person the moment you try to aim (it's been 15 years since I played it)?
>>745989827>the news anchor beeing a vtuber behind an LLM was a big revelation and leap in expectation what technology could do>having fully working cyber limbs is mundaneWe live in the wrong timeline
>>745996435>durr you played on easy, says the stealthfagLmao okay
>>745996435A stealth build, eh? Looks like we found ourselfs a boy scout.
>>745996761I know you're barely more than a glorified LLM bot, that engaging with you is entirely pointless, that there's the dreadful possibility you're a real human and you enjoy what you're doing right now, but I was genuinely asking even though I guess it's completely in vain. I don't feel like I did this kind of "trolling" or "ragebaiting" so... consistently and without any sincerity or purpose when I was a 17 year old.
>>745996996Yeah, I think the distinction you're getting at is pretty clear: you were genuinely asking the question, while also deliberately wrapping the question in a layer of obnoxiousness/ragebait. Those aren't mutually exclusive. And honestly, the part that stands out is the phrase “consistently and without any sincerity or purpose.” That's a pretty specific observation about your own behavior. You seem to be saying that when you were 17, even when you were being provocative, there was usually some actual motive underneath it—wanting a reaction, making a joke, defending a position, entertaining yourself, etc.—rather than just producing an endless stream of insincere antagonism for its own sake.So if you're asking whether that sounds like a meaningful distinction: yes. Someone can be trolling while still sincerely wanting an answer. The trolling describes how they're interacting, not necessarily whether the underlying question is genuine.
>>745988228I tried the original Deus Ex after completing HR and was disappointed by how much of it was copied for the HR's story with "modern" writing added on top.
>>745988228I played this (pirated) around the time it came out, didn't get into it, played it again last year because I bought it on Steam and enjoyed it a lot, got Mankind Divided on Epic for free but haven't played it yetAnd throughout the years I tried to get into the original Deus Ex but always drop it because I just don't care about it
>>745988303>It's a time of great innovation and technological advancement.>It's also a time of chaos and conspiracy.
>>745992821One of those is not like the others.
>gap between Deus Ex and HR: 11 years>gap between MD and now: 10 years
AAAAAAAAAAAADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM
>>745996458The real buzzkill is realizing that by the time dude sex or cyberpunk tier chrome is both generally available and affordable, any employer would just cut out the meatbag middleman and hire a full blown robot.
>>745988228How it compares to 1st one?
>>745997716You're right, HR was not as well-received but it was still a damn good game as everyone here understands it.
>>745988228Rest in Peace, Big Rizzle

>>745998569Yeah, rip.
>>745988228Do you guys prefer the Director's Cut or the OG?I got gifted the DC and never played it yet and feel an obligation to (and want the achievements I guess)
>>746002173There are mods to adjust the DC how you want it to be, but give it a go.
Odd to think that 15 years ago today my second long term girlfriend was leaving for college, I know this because I remember sadly playing the opening of DE:HR shortly after she’d left, and getting the basketball achievement during a phone call with her after she’d arrived in dorm.
>>746002546Mods such as? They on the nexus or moddb or...?I played the OG HR at launch, but only back then, I wouldn't actually know what I wanted to change.
>>745988228I asked for sequel
I had my first ever bad Deus Ex dream last night, it was the original in some kind of brutalist research facility that looked like a fusion of VersaLife and Area 51. I killed a couple workers and characters like Anna, Gunther, etc kept spawning in to fight me. It was easy at first but then Mecha Page appeared, and he was invincible and armed with several different weapons. I had to sip 100 different flavors of real life energy drinks that were left around the map just to keep my bioenergy high enough with speed aug always on. Felt like it would never end, but at one point I found a vent to hide in and the heat died down enough to walk through a marble textured hotel hallway where at the end there was the stock sex sound playing, and somehow I knew it was Maggie and Paul in there. I woke up extremely stressed and tired and have felt sick all day.

The bot itself is trivial but the explosion will kill enemiesThat should be it. If there were more enemies it would be way tougher because of the time limit, but just dummy-run it a few times, work out a route and keep an eye on the BoxBot, reload and go for a real run.MD was fun on pacifist because Merchenko is stupidly easy if you know what to do, literally about ten seconds.>You start crouched behind a low wall>throw a smoke grenade out, don't move>he'll start walking toward you>when he walks past you, zap with taser, click melee, fight is overI asked for every bit of this and I'll ask again, by god

Megan says Jense is quite well adjusted "...despite the massive trauma he's experienced". They're referring to his near-death at the end of HR. However Jensen is also being used by illuminati to get close to Janus etc. However, the criminal past DLC reveals that Jensen has basically been onto the illuminati the whole time. He's aware that they're trying push him into some sort of outcome, but isn't quite sure what yet. He's likely clued on that it's Janus or the collective.

Why bet on Detroit not being a shithole by 2027 anyway?
>>746032578Deus Ex was no longer plausibly futuristic by 2011, as they did not foresee the invention of smartphones or social media which immediately made all previous sci-fi anachronistic when they were invented. This always happens. Deus Ex does the same thing as 80s sci-fi in overestimating the efficacy and prevalence of robotic implants while underestimating biological modification and pure robotics. They always seem desperate to keep humans in the loop rather than imagining things being automated. Deus Ex, including HR, DID call how AI would be used though.
Would JC and Adam get along?
>>746052395yeah
>>746006789This needed a lot more supports to make sense.
>>746051629Maybe the differential in property values between Detroit and elsewhere does make it make sense. At some point, property values are low enough that gigacorps could theoretically just buy land and guard it heavily, for the same price as just the land elsewhere. >>746032994>>746053971Shit like this doesn't just magically disappear. The devs gave their own reasoning which was something along the lines of thinking that modern technology had already outpaced Deus Ex 1. So they were basically trying to outdo the original in predicting what things would be like. I always though Deus Ex 1 was a really grounded vision of the future though. The idea that just because we'd (and kind of now) have cyborgs and AI doesn't mean the very environment changes.
>>746054386>It was very close and I felt insane seeing people shit on ME3 while human revolution got a free pass.Might be because ME story was finished in 5 years with higher expectations while it took 10 years for another Dues Ex game to get made to people took what they could get
>>746054275>>746054386That sucked and people complained it sucked. >>746056993Yes, if you can deal with:1. the age of Deus Ex2. the fact that Adam Jensen's story is not and will never be finished, Mankind Divided will leave you hangingIf you want to play the first one, 1. Get Kentie's launcher https://kentie.net/article/dxguide/ (Deus Exe), it will make it run more reliably and better on modern systems with bells and whistles, and "fix" some issues, make it more accessible.2. Alternatively, consider getting this https://www.moddb.com/mods/give-me-deus-ex-augmented-edition which changes some balance and improves AI and enemy layouts, etc. Most people do not suggest using "Give Me Deus Ex" on a first playthrough, however. As for Human Revolution, consider either pirating the non-Director's Cut version, within which you play the DLC separate as an expository side story which fills in the gaps (how it was, people have said they much prefer this to the way it's implemented in the DC as they say it breaks the pacing)...Or simply play the Director's Cut and maybe consider downloading the mod that restores the "piss" filter.

>>746064121Each game is probably like 20-40 hours long depending on your investment, IW has historically been called terrible but who knows what modern viewpoints are, the first game requires at least one mod to really make playable (a daunting ask when most zoomers don't know how fucking file structures work), and getting into the HR and MD franchise comes with a promise you will never see the conclusion.I agree he should just play them but it's not that gay a question.
>>746031182The game also kinda predicts EVs too, down to the charger design.
>>746064349i've seen people try to revisionism IW on /v/ and it's hilariousthe story in it is mildly interesting since it takes place way after all the other games but it's a very bland console corridor shooter. It's not so bad that it's unplayable or anything but it's by far the weakest of all of them
>>746037871>However, the criminal past DLC reveals that Jensen has basically been onto the illuminati the whole time. That shit is a great cliffhanger. Dude's playing along and he's on to them. I just hope the third game is good, whenever that is.
you... WESTENAH
For me it was sitting there listening to not-Alex Jones' rants on radios whenever there was one playing
>>746066045For me it was hearing him rant about the underground extra-legal FEMA camps and then having to fucking infiltrate one myself.
>>746065814>whenever that is.>>746016102
>>746017670??? he just put that into an AIhe's a retarded fucking faggot nigger child
>>746054364>You mean "Memeified Alex Jones" who basically foreshadows everything in the game which you then learn is actually true, meaning the game's stance is that this "ridiculous shock jock conspiracy guy"... is right about everything? He talks about massive underground FEMA prison facilities and the "plastic coffin" and mass internment conspiracy stuff that was going around back then... then you find out it's all fucking real and are inside the massive FEMA internment facility (which is working under the Illuminati) yourself.Yeah exactly you fucking normalnigger retard
>>746067710What makes me a "normalnigger retard"? are you a bot?
THEY'RE PUTTING SOMETHING IN THE NEUROPAZINE THAT'S TURNING THE FRIGGIN AUGS GAY
>>746067921>Neuropozyne shortens to NuPoz>Poz is a term in gay fetish circlesCompletely believable
HR is my first DE, though I do intend to play all of them. I’ve overall been enjoying it so far, it’s got plenty of replayability though I do have a few gripes. I’m playing on the hardest difficulty doing a mostly non-lethal run but if I get discovered I start blasting. >The pheromone Aug trivialises conversations a bit, too easy>The pre-rendered cutscenes are always jarring and have aged poorly compared to the actual game which is relatively clean and not filled with post-processing>The bosses are painful if you don’t have enough heavy weapons >Story wise, the bosses feel extremely lacklustre. The second female one in particular. She never says anything. You never learn anything about her backstory her motivations. >Not a huge criticism but in ‘conversation mode’ every NPC in the game acts like they’re tweaking on cocaine. Their eyes are darting around, their bodies are shaking, they can’t stand still.
>>746068432>You never learn anything about her backstory her motivations. The Tyrants are special forces mercenaries, there's nothing to learn. It's not MGS.
>>746068432>non-lethal
>>746068607>DC added a room with a computer you can hack to turn on turrets>still have to shoot him because who the fuck takes hack turret that early even in a fully hacking build?
>>746068432The best weapon against the bosses is the taser since it stun locks them and it does kill them eventually. Just stand there and tase them bro. Well except for the final boss which is weak to the laser rifle which you can grab from Tong before you infiltrate the boat. It penetrates the glass so you can kill her in 5 seconds
>>746070364don't tase me bro
>>746070214I remember being able to just kill him by throwing explosive barrels at him in the original.
>>746017795>>746068432>>I’m playing on Hard and random 100-0 headshots and deaths are so commonThis is how I remembered my experience with the combat on the actual hardest difficulty (the only difficulty I played it on) which is why I think it's such fucking bullshit that some tryhard zoomer nigger earlier was calling it a "Gears of War shooter"you little faggot what about HR is a "Gears of War" shooter when you get violently penetrated for trying to run and gun>>746071249yes that's basically how you had to kill him if you had no other offensive capability, that was the way you beat him as a fully stealth auged style player before the director's cut, you blew up shit around the room and threw explosive environmental stuff at him, that was the alternate win condition to just shooting him
>>745988303The augmentations are low key active
>>746015745At least they halted that Remaster abomination of Original Deus ExLet me remind you what they wanted to release back in January,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1RdKezTYNk
