indies were suposed to save gaming from generic AAA titles but they managed to become worse than Triple A titles, indies these days are eithe roguelike deckbuilders or friendslop. what the fuck went so wrong?
Interesting, none of my favorite indies from the last 5 years are either roguelike deckbuilders or friendslop. I wonder what's keeping you from noticing the dozens if not hundreds of examples that disprove your point.
>>745988242There's nothing especially wrong with this one given its price. The building gets tedious fast, but for 10 bucks it's alright.
>>745988421You're a moron. The fact of the matter is, the direction of the industry is affected by what's popular and makes money.>"Um, if it's not happening on MY front lawn, who cares about what happens in my neighborhood?"The general trends of the industry obviously have a downstream impact on you, you're just too myopic and self-absorbed to get it. Ok, maybe you've found some games you like to play. But there would be more games up your alley, with higher budgets, if not for the fact that all the energy, development and money is being absorbed into the black hole of slop for normies. The only reason you have this opinion is because you're a self-absorbed dillweed.
Any fresh out of "videogame development" college bum with enough money can buy a unity or unreal license. A lot of current videogame devs are just asset placers and ""designers"". Long gone are the days where small teams had actual software developers and engineers.
>>745988242>i hate moviegames, minimal content, no replay value, and cutscenes>*gets pure gameplay with hundreds of hours in content*>nooo not like that
>>745988795he's right, there's a bajillion indie that aren't like what you described. you're just blindly following marketing
>>745988242You're not looking in the right places.
>>745988795Nigger there are thousands of indies released daily. Shut the fuck up and try actually looking for shit you want
>>745988242>indies these days are eithe roguelike deckbuilders or friendslopIf only there were different genres.
>>745988795Except your analogy is shit because your front lawn can change at your will. You're planting shit plants and wondering why they yield shit
>>745988242>indies were suposed to save gaming from generic AAA titlesThey've been turbo generic slop since day 1. Just pale imitations of better games, only difference is that they use a mobile engines like godot or unity instead of unreal.Pitt is good though,
>>745988242“Indie games” was always code for “Indian games” - $5 slop that erodes overall quality in the industry for 2 seconds of dopamine. The ever gullible window licker zoomers took the bait once again and almost destroyed video games
>>745994308>almost destroyed video gameslol lmao? Remind me how many good games launched in the past decade
>>745994497None because zoomers fell for the jeetslop propaganda and demanded attention whore deckbuilders instead of real games, thanks for proving my point
>>745994616There is no almost, they killed video games. Also factorio is from the last decade...i think.
>>745988242You don't play games
>>745994936 Looks terrible.
I used to get recs from this channel, but like just scroll through the video list for 2 minutes and you'll see how fucking dire the indie saturation has gottenhttps://www.youtube.com/@OlexaYT/videos
>>745994982you don't play games
>>745995162not an indie title
>>745995162This game just made me want to play zelda. Thank god for randomizers.
>>745995318you play games>>745995390you don't play games
>>745988242you do know there is much more than the steam homepage right?
>>745995162honestly I got bored of mina by the 3rd dungeon I just had so much hp I could facetank everything there was no point in playing
>>745990617>Any fresh out of "videogame development" college bum with enough money can buy a unity or unreal license. They don't cost anything if you're just developing a new game. They only start to cost money when you're making (significant) money off them, way more than the amount you have to start paying. So by definition literally any human being with a computer can afford Unity and Unreal.
Friendslop or deckbuilders just sound easier to make and they sell well so of course everyone will copy them. Indie publishers need to step up and fund some bigger teams. Bring back AA.
>>746000391>Bring back AA.I'm signing an executive order to just do that anon hang on tight
>>745988795Hell of a self report.
