What should Havelock have done differently to succeed in taking control of the empire?
>>
Not put wimpy ass Samuel in charge of poisoning Corvo.

Also are the DLCs worth it for the first game?
>>
>>745988982
the daud campaigns are better than the main campaign, and the trials are fun little minigames.
>>
>>745988982
Trials are kind of ass but the Daud DLCs are worth playing.
>>
>>745988982
Why the fuck didn't Samuel tell Corvo that the drink was poisoned? Samuel poisoned it BEFORE picking Corvo up in the boat and dropping him off at the Hound Pits. Samuel could have told Corvo, Corvo could have dispatched all three of them then and there, avoided the whole flooded district bullshit, and all the people Havelock killed after taking power wouldn't have died. Not to mention that after poisoning you Samuel picks you up and dumps you in the flooded district where you get captured by Daud (who realistically would have just killed you), not to mention the rats and weepers and hagfish there that could have just killed Corvo before he even woke up. That entire part of the story makes zero sense. Fuck Samuel.
>>
>>745988874
Having a son and marrying off to the new empress.
>>
>>745988874
Fucking hated the flooded district, especially on a ghost run

Why the fuck do weepers count as detection?
>>
Please no Emily posting
>>
Shall we gather for whiskey and cigars tonight?
>>
>>745988874
Why not just continue the plan as it was?

Emily wouldn't be making adult decisions for a while, and Corvo isn't exactly a genius politician. Sure may not jave been 100% in charge, but being the dude who saved the empress, would presumably be one of her new major advisors, and is best friends with the empire's new superpowered assassin seems like a pretty good gig.

Plus what >>745989484 said.
>>
>>745992719
They needed to kill Corvo because Corvo would not allow them to manipulate Emily. There is no regency, Emily is placed directly in charge in the end of the game.
>Corvo isn't exactly a genius politician
Why do people say retarded shit like this, across many games? Especially when this is disproven in the game itself, if you had actually played it.
>>
>>745993927
>Why do people say retarded shit like this, across many games
The game starts with Corvo unexpectedly returning early to Dunwall because his negotiation skills were shit and was unable to garner assistance from the other nations to help with the rat plague. His backstory that we learned dishonored 2 is that he was a really good swordsman that served as a soldier and then sent to dunwall to serve as royal protector. Corvo isn't a politician by any means.
>>
>>745994230
>Corvo unexpectedly returning early to Dunwall because his negotiation skills were shit
What a retarded argument. He wasn't sent as a diplomat, he went to deliver the Empress' request for aid, and they said no because they were intent on blockading Dunwall. Go fuck yourself dipshit.
>Corvo isn't a politician by any means.
This doesn't mean that Corvo is retarded and would allow Havelock to manipulate Emily into doing whatever. This is precisely why Havelock tried to kill Corvo.

Oh, wait. What did the Outsider say in the low chaos ending?
>You will stand at her side, Corvo, guiding her young mind, and protecting her from those who seek to exploit her, or cause her harm.
Feel free to kill yourself you retarded fucking nigger.
>>
>>745994230
Corvo was sent to the other nations in the isles to see if any of them had a cure, and they said no. He wasn't negotiating anything lmao this is pure conjecture

I shan't

>>

>corvo isn't exactly a genius politician
he literally took over Hiram Burrows' job after the event of the first game, both as spymaster and regent. He ran things smoothly for years until Emily came of age.
>>
>>745989397
He needed to poison Corvo or else the loyalists would kill him and Corvo too. Giving Corvo a smaller dose so he would pass out but not die was the best course of action. Later he would dump him off alone somewhere where they wouldn't find him because he knew he would've managed, plus he had no idea about Daud.
>>
>>745995291
No, no, retard, actually read what I said. Samuel puts the poison in the drink BEFORE you arrive back at the Hound Pits. Samuel knew it was poisoned before you ever got off the boat, and yet he never told you.
>he would dump him off alone somewhere where they wouldn't find him because he knew he would've managed
Awake Corvo is dangerous, Awake Corvo will kill you in a split second, Awake Corvo is unstoppable. Asleep Corvo? Fishbait. He dumped you off at one of the most dangerous parts of the city, where you easily could have been killed by rats or fish, or weepers, or muggers, the danger here isn't Daud, read what I said. Samuel could have just let Corvo nap on his boat until he woke up, and then drove him back to the Hound Pits to take out Havelock. This entire section makes zero sense and you need to stop coping.
>>
>>745988874
Well the smartest bet would have to not tried to take over the Empire. But if he had to then I would say to slit his throat after drugging him and not leave it up to chance.
>>
>>745996305
>No, no, retard, actually read what I said.
Maybe you would do so yourself. He NEEDED Corvo to get poisoned or the loyalists would turn on them. If he told Corvo, then he would defend himself and it would turn into a bloodbath. Giving him a half dose was the only way to make sure no one got killed. Now the flooded district may seem questionable, but it was the only place where they couldn't have done a search easily.

>Awake Corvo is dangerous, Awake Corvo will kill you in a split second, Awake Corvo is unstoppable.
>where you easily could have been killed by rats or fish, or weepers, or muggers
Now you're just contradicting yourself.
>>
>>745988874
He should have gathered for whisky and cigars less.
>>
>could have become new inner circle of the new government
>fucked it up because of "muh fear"
it's even funnier with D2 retcon about how everyone knew about Corvo and Jessamine
>>
>>745994886
why write many word when few word work
>>
Considering that the Empire was getting pretty fucked up by the plague and all the magic cunts running around doing bullshit it probably wasn't a grand idea to rock the boat by betraying Corvo at all. Cleanly installing Emily as Empress with a regent council of the loyalists without any Reign of Terror bullshit was definitely the way to go. The reason why Havelock and the other traitors even did it was only explained by the plot as just them being shitheads rather than for any good justification.
>>
>>745998059
>tell corvo about poison on way back
>act like nothing is wrong
>toast comes
*freeze time*
>take havelock, martin, and pendelton down
>no one else can stand in his way since they’re not trained in combat
How is this so hard to understand? The poison was already ready before he got there.
>Asleep Corvo? Fishbait. He dumped you off at one of the most dangerous parts of the city, where you easily could have been killed by rats or fish, or weepers, or muggers, the danger here isn't Daud, read what I said
Subhuman niggers that need to play dumb like you need to have their heads split open with a hatchet holy shit.
>>
>>745992646
Never doubt it.
>>
>>745998059
>Giving him a half dose was the only way to make sure no one got killed.
People DID get killed, retard. In low chaos Wallace and Lydia are killed, in high chaos Callista is as well. They're also attempting to kill Piero and Sokolov (which would be devastating for the world if they died).
>>
>>746000498
Did samuel know corvo had magic
>>
>>746000148
>just them being shitheads rather than for any good justification.
IIRC I thought Havelock was basically a nobody and his entire life he always wanted to be a great man of history. When he saw that he was one move away from controlling an empire he just couldn't resist the temptation. To be honest, his plan wasn't thought through very well. Emily probably would have resisted and despised them for killing Corvo, and she only really liked Callista, whom Havelock kills or gets rid of. Also him trying to kill Sokolov and Piero who are the greatest minds of the empire and responsible for the technological revolution is supremely retarded. He should have just settled for getting a seat at the royal court, he could have gotten a comfy position commanding the entire navy and having the Empress' ear.
>>
>>746002772
Probably not but if Corvo can infiltrate and assassinate the Lord Regent in the most secure place in the entire empire, along with the High Overseer in his own compound, the Pendletons in the brothel, kidnapping Sokolov in his secure compound, and killing Lady Boyle in her mansion, Corvo could handle a trio of dimwits in a bar. Corvo could easily just walk in and slice open Havelock's neck and kill the second guy before anyone even processes what happened.
>>
>>745994886
pearls before swine
>>
>>745992646
Chances are very good.
>>
>>745988982
Daud's DLCs are arguably better than the main game, and Trials can be fun but not essential
>>
>>745992646
Indeed, I believe so.
>>
>>746002772
He does comment if you blink in front of him I think, not sure about other powers. How does blink look like to observers anyway? Just moving really fast? Or actually dissapearing and reappearing a couple feet away? It does seem to be silent since it never alerts anyone.
>>
>>746006674
>Just moving really fast?
You should know this, ever ask yourself why you can't blink through walls of light? Because you're not teleporting, you're just moving really fast. That's also why when you blink you see yourself move forward, really fast.
>>
>>746002772
You’re really pushing the idea that Corvo a guy who is basically super human without powers will not be able to take on three guys. One of which is just some pampered noble. In fact the whole point of the poison is that they knew they could not fight him fairly. Otherwise they would have just tried to gank him normally.
>>
Hey, I'm going to the Bear Pits tomorrow. Ya wanna come with?
>>
>>745988874
not piss off the greatest assassin in the world
>>
>>746006674
You see it up close when daud blinks around in DOTO, or with Corvo in the start of D2
>>
>>745988874
What would they have done if Corvo hadn't come back early? Were there any plans to deal with him at a later point? Anyone else to frame for the murder?
>>
>well have never got another game set on a different island
sad
>>
>>746013745
It wouldn't make sense because the outsider is out of commission and no one's getting any special powers anymore
>>
>>746002870
Corvo canonically got his ass kicked by 2 guards after being framed for Jessamine's death.
>>
>>746013892
they could make a prequel set between 1 and 2.
>>
>>746014528
What's the point of prequels when you already know the setting is going to shit the bed?
>>
>>746014639
that's a different matter altogether.
>>
>>746014712
A very relevant matter all the same as it's probably the reason why we are getting nothing at all, forward or backwards. Damage is done, mood is ruined.
>>
>>746014787
idc bro I was talking about how they could get around the outsider dying
>>
>>746014852
The outsider did say there are only 8 people with his mark

>Hey player, heres a bunch of cool tools you can use to play the game and kill your enemies
>BUT IF YOU USE ANY OF THEM YOURE A VILE EVIL NASTY PERSON THAT WANTS TO RUIN THE WORLD

How did this ideology of game design get any traction?
>>
>>746016821
8 at the time of D1. Could be more, could be less after.

>>746018281
Granny Rags in pandyssia storyline
>>
how strict is the chaos bad ending really? I want to replay it (last time was probably just before Dishonored 2) but I don't want to go full stealth
>>
Do you feel this game has Dishonored you, in a way?
>>
>>746000498
You're so retarded it hurts.
