For the most part you're just running away from Queen Brahne and getting into trouble while doing so. Like several anime mini-arcs stitched together and random shit happening. FF9 is in no way better game than FF6, 7 or even 8 despite the naysayers. FF9 is just a very safe, easy, kind of quirky, traditional jrgp for casuls.
