Do you like games like Legend of Mana where the protagonist isn't really integral to a game's plot(s) and is mostly a side companion to his or her companion's stories?

It's arguably the best one just by the sheer amount of gameplay content in it, though most people seem to prefer Trials of Mana/Seiken Densetsu 3

I love how odd it is, it's world is this piecemeal of legends and stories. Very creative. The music is great, art is great. I can see people's frustration at times with the gameplay, though I personally quite like the SaGa style systems.
I think I do actually like games where you're something of an outsider or Angel or whatever you are in that game, walking through and influencing other's stories.
