HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOOO YOUUUU
Fraud Hackmann!?
Its sad to think that he probably only has a few games left in him, no matter what you think of him he's on of the OG's and has brought so many ideas that went on to be hallmarks of the industry
Happy birthday!
>>746004682FROM THE CREATOR OF DRAW NEARING...... HITO KOKITO PRESENTS ...... POPCORN CLOSED: SAUCE FALLS
>>746004763He's a nerd who made it, and doesn't seem to be aware how lucky he is, thinking he's just a genius. The other side is that he DOES seem to be a good public manager, with the ability to bring about projects on budget and on time which is breathtaking in this day and age where AAA games seem to languish in dev hell for years and years. I mean, okay Death Stranding was 40 million, but it created a new engine for Sony, hours of cutscenes and audio, giant map, etc. It would probably cost the Ameriacns 120 million to maek that same game.
>>746004682Happy Birthday king
>>746005028>The other side is that he DOES seem to be a good public manager, with the ability to bring about projects on budget and on time which is breathtaking in this day and age where AAA games seem to languish in dev hell for years and years.Everyone who's worked with him says he's really good at communication and getting stuff done, he mentioned in an interview that when an employee asks him if they can do something for a game he doesn't take time to think it over, he always just gives a yes or no answer right there, and often its yes. This means that development always keeps moving and its why KJP games are filled with so many little weird dumb details. I think its a good mentality for a creator to have, rather than focusing on everything being perfect he's more focused on momentum.
>>74600476363 isn't that old
>>746005685For a stressful job like AAA development it is, most of his peers are basically semi-retired at this point
now I simply see that's only 30 years from now and that life is fleeting, he even complained he didn't have enough time for all the things he wants to do, like a neet.
Is Kojima the most slurped retard on /v/?
>>746004682It's my birthday too, I'm always overshadowed by Kojimbo.
>>746004682>63 - 36Holy fuck Kojima did it again
>>746004682Happy birthday!>>746006948Happy birthday to you too, anon!
>>746004682It's been 13 years. How time flies...
>>746008264>>746004682Happy Birthday, Kojima.
>>746006948Happy Birthday, anon. I hope you have a wonderful day.
>>746005961Kojima is the last person in the games industry I'd imagine as stressed. He had pretty much unmitigated control over his projects while with Konami, and even now with Sony funding him he has a loooooong leash to do whatever he wants. He has the status of an auteur, a loyal fanbase, and his games all sell well. He's chill.
>>746004682Kojima is still my favorite despite not liking his newer games but they do still catch my attention when he makes something new. Happy birthday hopefully his next game is good.
>>746004682just 9 years left kojimba san...
>>746005028Oh, you can very clearly tell that the Death Stranding games have much lower budgets than, like, a Horizon Zero Dawn or any modern Assassin's Creed. Outside of their lavishly produced cutscenes and a handful of big setpieces each, they're extremely sparse in terms of production.
>>746008264Was in a GCCX thread a few weeks ago and it reminded me of Arino's birthday card we sent. Got mine on it, thankfully. Shame I missed the Kojimbles one. Time is a fuck.
>>746008671Dunno Anon, they do sport a cavalcade of B to C list actors (Hollywood, not vidya)
>>746004803this was beyond kino
>>746008772Yes, but most of them don't actually have that much screentime and lines if you compare it to, say, Reeves in Cyberpunk. And the games themselves are surprisingly minimalistic. His open worlds don't have towns or much in the way of wildlife or enemy variety. Quest design is extremely simple. Combat is extremely simple. It's basically just a large, almost empty world, a collection of very elaborate movement mechanics and various gadgets. Long cutscenes with a couple of somewhat recognizable actors from film and television every couple of hours are definitely expensive, but most of the actual game is extremely minimal by modern open world standards. Also, it's pretty amazing how little dialogue Norman Reedus or Elle Fanning actually had in DS2. Feels like the most actual money was spent on Leah Seydoux.
>>746005028>he DOES seem to be a good public manager, with the ability to bring about projects on budget and on timeKeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkk
>>746004682That does not look like a 63 year old man
>>746011076Pretty sure he wears a wig.

>>746008067>>746008340Thank you.
