Miyazaki suggests FromSoftware is keen to return to single-player games after The Duskbloods and Elden Ring: Nightreign

https://www.eurogamer.net/hidetaka-miyazaki-fromsoftware-single-player-games
>>
Both Nightreign and Duskbloods are blatant investorsloppa due to Elden Ring's success, I don't blindly trust them anymore
>>
Dark Souls 3 was also blatant investorsloppa.
>>
>teehee its just a coincidence we keep releasing live service trash instead of something actually worthwhile
yeah I bet
>>
>>746004994
It was contractual obligation sloppa because Bamco signed up for a trilogy
>>
Damn, I kinda don't give a shit
>>
>>746004864
Fromsoft has always made it very clear which games are passion projects and which games are for money. swords and magic? It's for money. Mechs? It's going to be peak. King's Field was made to fund Armored Core and these last two games are no different.
>>
>>746004864
nightreign was kino fuck you
>>
Dark souls 2 was their last good game
>>
>>746005043
what
Nightreign has zero live service, the game is finished
>>
>>746008543
Oh for real? Can we finally fight the everdarks offline?

Give us new Tenchu with Sekiro gameplay already.
>>
>>746004773
I hope it's not more open world garbage, but with how successful Elden Ring was I doubt it.
I don't want huge pretty vistas that are mostly empty or copy-pasted enemies again.
>>
>>746004773
More rehashed asset flip slop. Woopty doo. Call me when they actually make a new game that isn't the same exact feeling action rpg with an apocalyptic emo world with retarded helmets and tattered clothes and the same ps3 era engine and esoteric and vague writing again being hailed by pseuds as the writing of the century. Oh but we know it will be, who are we kidding?
>>

didn't get enough attention growing up huh
gotta seek it out here?

You always could with mods.
>>

Uh huh.
Right.
Just a little oopsie woopsie, a little funny coincidence you started deepthroating this shit all at once
Sure fucking thing
>>
>>746010065
They already made armored core 6.
>>
>>746004773
I love how he has had to repeat that statement every time he's been interviewed by the media since the announcement.
>>
>>746011442
nta, but
>6
lol cmon bruh
>>
>>746009284
>huge pretty vistas that are mostly empty
if anything, the world map was too dense
>>746009284
>copy-pasted enemies
more enemy types than any arpg ever made
>>
>>746013959
>too dense
only in enemy encounters of the same kind, but most players will quickly learn to just ride past them on the horse you get 15 minutes into the game.
Elden Ring lacks most things that makes open worlds enjoyable like living towns with interesting NPCs and quests, fun traversal, side activities, etc.
And as a souls-like it also fucks up the tightly designed challenge and the level design because an open world throws all that out of the window, bosses can be designed to be a fucking mess because the player is expected to go somewhere else to get stronger or even downright broken to triviliaze the challenge and only the legacy dungeons have any semblence level design to them.
>more enemy types than any arpg ever made
and yet they felt the need to put enemies from other areas in caves and pretend they're bosses in limgrave and in general the amount of re-used bosses in ER is obnoxiously high
>>
>>746013959
Anon that's a real shitty image to use. The icons vastly overstate how much of the map is taken up by actual points of interest.

Elden Ring already had problems making it worthwhile to actually explore, and the DLC was even fucking worse. You have a better time in Elden Ring if you're just told, and keep to, advice about where to go and what to look for. You're almost never going to find anything of interest off in the corner, and when you do find something it's rarely of any worth.

It's still a fun game and I think justifies it's open world nature well enough, but it absolutely could've been a bit smaller or at least had a few more minor things of interest off in a corner. Just odd enemies hanging out, some rarer materials more frequently, things like that. As is, if you have to ask if it's worth poking at that edge of the path, the answer is usually no.

>and yet they felt the need to put enemies from other areas in caves and pretend they're bosses in limgrave
I do like the Beastmen bosses in Limgrave, given it's also littered with pieces of Farum Azula. Or at least that's the impression you get from all the weird ruins strewn about and then those dudes squatting in a cave. They needed more of that stuff.

The only repeat boss they absolutely should not have done is Godofroy or whatever his name was. The game would legitimately feel less shit if they'd taken him out, because doubling up on a unique boss like that just makes the game feel cheap, even though there were tons of bosses otherwise.
>>
King's Field V
Any day now
>>
>>746014687
ER's elite enemies l used as bosses have more complex movesets than even endgame DS1, DS2 or DeS bosses.
No shit they're used as bosses in the starting area, just look at Leonine Misbegotten he's basically fucking Gael Phase 1.

Cave minibosses that are reused enemies like Stone Golem are basically Tower Knight, or the Runebear is Flame Lurker without fire damage.
>>
>>746004773
duskbloods has more new mechanic than every west cuck game
>>
>>746014907
>Godofroy
him and the shade of godfrey, mogh in the sewers and astel in a random ass cave
the amount of tree spirits and erdtree avatars is also too much

ONE TRICK PONY
>>
>>746017073
Soldier of Godrick has 5 melee moves, Penetrator in DeS has 3.
>>
>>746017549
everyone can check the wikis and see SoG has only 4 moves and penetrator has 5.
also penetrator is in the middle of the first world of DeS, from a 17 years old game and a real endgame boss from dark souls when they actual started making more complex bosses in the dlc like artorias has 10 different moves/combos
>>
>>746004773
thank fuck
>>
Wake me up when this retarded ugly gook finally announces Sekiro 2, anything else is fucking dogshit.
>>
I'm looking forward to seeing what FromSoft and Nintendo's partnership gives us in the future.
>>
Dark Souls
Dark Souls 2
Demons Souls
Bloodborne
Elden Ring
Dark Souls 3
Sekiro
>>
>>746004773

>>

This, they never made a good game.
>>
>>746004773
