Valve celebrates 30 years, did they have a good run as a game developer?
no
I don't wear fresh underwear every day, once every 2 days is enough
>>746006201Their first 15 years were goodThat's all I'll say
Yes
>>746006201A legendary run...that they gave up on over a decade ago. Still had fun. Still trust them more than the other fuckers.
>>746006496That's awful, Stayvun
>>746006201>Dota2 is pretty much on life support>CS2 is abysmal dogshit and the worst in the franchise>TF2 is pretty much dead and ruined>Deadlock started interesting but gets progressively worse with each update at rapid speeds>HL Alyx was fun but it's for VR and VR is dead, and they haven't made anything single player since. They're a dogshit game developer. Literally all these people working on the games I listed would've been fired years ago if they worked for any other company without infinite money glitch revolving around unregulated gambling.
30 years3 + 0 = 3half life 3 confirmed
>>746006201well...better than the rest
>>746007421you forgot one>Artifact, Valve screwed over the Artifact fanbase by cancelling the Artifact 2.0 beta without even allowing users to invite friends like they said they would in January 2021 and does not deserve your financial support for these gross consumer-unfriendly practices.
>>746007935I legit forgot it existed. What a fumble.
>>746007934Not a very high bar, let's be honest here
>>746006201How about a new game that doesn't make me buy a headset I'll never use?
>>746006201When the FUCK is Steam Frame releasing?
>>746006201where's the 30 year sale
>>746007421It's his fault. He could fix everything wrong about Valve games overnight by telling his lackeys to work on the games or get fired but he literally only cares about moar profit to fund his epstein yachts and fires anyone doing anything other than making him more money as in finding more infinite money glitch exploits like selling gambling to children, taking 30%, selling people's mods, selling community made skins and give 1% of profits in return etc. etc. but it's okay because he is fat just like me.
Thanks for the reminder thread for me to go get my free Epic games! I really should put it in my calendar, would make life easier. If I don't launch them, which I don't think I have even once, does Epic still have to pay for me getting it in my library?
>>746007421Its literally impossible for one of the most income per worker companies to hire like 2 people to give tf2 an update every year or something
>>746009005>income per workerIt's average income because it's mostly seniors with stocks at Valve from early days. They use contractors for real work. Not to mention all the business partners you don't count like Akamai CDN, developers, publishers, community who often do it for literally free or get paid 1% lmao.
>>746006201made some of the greatest games of all time but im not a dick rider they also have left a lot of them to rot away so its a give and take with them
>>746006201Laziest bastards in the universe... They're undoubtedly the most intelligent/clever developers in the industry by far, but have absolutely no one to reel them in or put a fire under their ass. It's like they're in their own little rat utopia. On top of that, they have the biggest normie/low IQ playtesters nerf every little creative or interesting game mechanic; it's just absurd.
>>746008704Valve just wants to build a independent pc platform so they can avoid microshart deleting steam on a whim so they can keep on having the most profitable company in the world.
You are under the misconception that we are a game development company... we are not. What we are, really, is a skins company. We get a multiplayer game to go popular and then we sell lootboxes for dumb skins to everyone.
