I actually have Borderlands 2 as one of my favorite videos games of all time, still have my preorder poster from 2012. The series has more lows than highs but at least the first two games are solid despite the some cringe.

Not that I'm going to praise Borderland's writing or setting for ever being nuanced or subtle, but the later games are wildly different in atmosphere, humor and style than the first.
