>Attacks with maces ignore 75% of armor
WTF were they thinking? Why would ANYONE use ANYTHING else at this point?
>>

>WTF were they thinking?
They weren't.
>>
Because HP bloat is the issue not armor, also slower attacking.
>>
There is pvp in this game?
>>
Not every enemy uses armor. How does this harm the absurd wildlife or dragons or the giants? Or Falmer or Dwemer constructs? Seems very specific to armored bandit mobs.
>>
>>746008561
Armor Pen is a godly stat in many games but I'm pretty sure it isn't in Skyrim, at least not compared to attacking faster.
>>
>>746008561
If you want to know a stupid game breaking perk, look into the Shadow Warrior perk. If an enemy sees you, crouching down makes him lose sight. If you crouch and immediately attack, this counts as a stealth backstab, killing the enemy instantly. Just sprint up to an enemy, crouch, stab, repeat. You can clear an entire dungeon in seconds.
>>
How do I stop OOM'ing myself from shooting 3-4 fireballs?
>>
>>746008939
This is mostly because there are lots of sources of damage which ignore armor entirely. If you use Magic, unless an enemy has the shield perk that gives them resistance to magic/elemental damage, then you bypass all their armor. So enchanted swords become the best weapons. The enchantment that gives you chaos magic effect is the best and then you either put fire or lightning on it. Most things in Skyrim don't resist those. You'll hit for thousands of damage per swing, even on legendary, where those are quartered, you'll kill most things in 4 swings once the scaling hits the ceiling.

At the start you just want to carry a lot of potions. Once you have enchanted gear to pump your magicka total and regen, you'll have less trouble. The real issue isn't having a lot of magic, its killing things with less spells cast. Get gear that increases your overall damage and use expert spells like Ice Storm. Even though a lot of enemies resist Ice spells, because it does damage per second for those inside it, you can do a hundred damage easily to multiple enemies.

My character's debuff is his hatred of smithing, alchemy, enchanting, and looting the dead (unless forced). I turn off fast travel and download mods that add more carriages.
>>
>>746008561
Skyrim is a single player game. You choose how strong you are. If you choose to use an overpowered perk then thats on you.
>>
>>746008561
Because not every enemy in the game has a shitload of armor you need % based penetration for.
Ironically the games where armor pen is the strongest is when it's a flat number that penetrates what little diminishing returns armor squishy people have.
>>
>>746009998
Skyrim's quests were designed around fast traveling. I found that carriages strike the happy medium between easy and annoying. Without the mod, you're forced to spend 15 minutes walking back and forth just for 10 septims. You basically turned a dev's 10 minute tutorial into a 6 hour session of walking. Also, I don't know wtf survival mode is. I don't play tranniversary edition.
>>
>>746008561
Enemies in this game will have several hundred health each by that point, and not that much armor, of which isn't enhanced. Swords and daggers are technically higher DPS with some exceptions.
>>
Why would anyone put points into anything except archery in Skyrim? Honest question. Every time I try to start a NG by the end of the playthrough I'm basically one-shotting dragons out of the fuggin sky.
>>
Armor penetration in Skyrim is kinda pointless as most of enemy toughness comes from bloated health pools and not armor
>>
>>746008561
Nobody uses maces so it doesn't matter what they put back there. Caveman retard weapon for dummies who can't into swords
>>
>>746010814
Variety. Stealth archery being OP is a legit balancing problem with the game, but people will make other builds to challenge themselves. It’s the reason the game has stayed relevant for so long.
>>
I'm amost sure that 80% off the enemies dont even have armor rating, so -75% of 0 is just zero armor reduced.

Most enemies rely on your difficult scaling, armor reducing perks literally do nothing in Skyrim. In fallout 4 they are actually useful.
>>
>>746008561
>Why would ANYONE use ANYTHING else at this point?

I don't like maces
>>
>>746008561
Why do I need a mace when basically everyone is dead before they even know I'm there?
>>
>>746008561
most enemies dont really have high armor ratings, its more a stat for the players.
>>
>>746008561
Because by the time you get to "bloated" health bars it's not because of their armor, but their raw HP. Enemies don't have armor cap gigasmithed armor where this is nearly as relevant as it sounds.
The tankiest enemies in the game don't even have armor at all I'm pretty sure. A lot of enemies that look armored don't actually gave any either.

>he doesn’t know the mages will just one-shot him at high levels

dragons dont have armor stat just a really bloated health pool

Dunno, I just pulled dungeons running away and shot a kamehameha at a door. That usually cleared the entire thing.

Ever cranked the difficulty slider all the way up in Oblivion?
It's ridiculous (unless you use poison on your weapons, then it's easy as ever) barely surviving 1 hit from a rat; entering and exiting a dungeon to get hit once, to heal and to repeat until you level up light armor is insane.

It's great all the way up to the point where the main quest's failure state depends on the health of Martin (the oblivion portal quest towards the end) you can't beat that on max difficulty, he gets one shot, simply impossible. Uncrank the slider for that and then reup it again once the battle is through

Do you want to swing a sick, shoot an arrow or shoot coloured balls?
The game is carried on sex mods and youtube grifters making 20 hour long videos of them reading the wiki.
>>
>>746012741
The game doesn’t have deep combat, but you’d be amazed at how far RPing using your imagination can carry you. Mods help obviously, but it’s still a popular game on consoles too.

They play it to play pretend in a fantasy world rather than for the gameplay.
>>
>>746012974
Yes I already mentioned the sex mods.
>>
i'm thinking of going bow
>>
>>746008561
Get rid of that stupid overlay. You do not need to know any of this.
>>
>modded skyrim
cringe
>>
Why are you creating a balance whine thread for a 15 year old game that's got a bazillion balance mods to fix any issue you could possibly have.
>>
>>746008786
Dragons are usualy decently armored, maybe the Wyverns in Skyrim are made of paper. Dwemer constructs should also be heavily armored considering their material.
>>
>>746008561
armor its nothing in skyrim every hard enemy have a lot of hp best perk is blade critical
>>
>"""roleplaying in skyrim"""
You'd genuinely have more fun swinging a stick outside and pretending it's a sword. Deeper roleplaying mechanics, too.
