Is there any game genre as pay to win as card games are?

The irony is that the most expensive decks often get blown tf out by a Red Deck Wins or some other nobrain count-to-20 aggro. I say this as an aficionado of nobrain count-to-20 aggro decks.

We fear Magus of the Moon and Blood Moon like crazy because we greedily run like 3-4 colors and rarely pack any basic lands so getting Moon's Turn 1 is a death sentence cuz we can't play jack shit in out deck even if we're BGr. Might as well scoop and go to Game 2 (and most critically, sideboard).
