>game punishes you for doing side quests
The fuck were they thinking
>>
at least it won't be like crimson desert where there's 20 million useless side quests and a shitty main quest

When playing arpugers most people don't arpee - they just go around vacuuming the map because game designers are cocksuckers which don't want to upset anyone

Arpeeing is about making decisions and sticking with them just like in real life and you can't do everything you want
>>
>>746014585
>>746014918
No, this is a lazy attempt to force the player to replay the game
>>
>>746013814
it's role-playing with a deadline, my NIGGER
>>
They really fumbled the marketing for this one. All they had to do was post from the makers of witcher 3 everywhere and get some streamers to parrot its like witcher but with vampires

>>
>>746015164
Good, sidequests are cancer, you shouldn't rescue every goddamn cat and deliver every package an NPC wants you to. You've got a mission to do and its ridiculous how many games pad out their design with pointless distractions.

Replaying the game and choosing a different path is the superior experience everytime.
>>
This is why I stick to Japanese role playing games.
>>
>>746014918
But that is only remotely interesting when you can make your own character and story choices. The fuck do I care if this literal who Geralt ripoff did or did not save negro number 3 if I already know there will be a time skip that renders it pointless anyway?
>>
This is actual good game design
>>
>>746013814
sounds kino
>>
It'll be modded out within a week if anyone ends up caring about this game at all, anyway.
>>
>>746013814
They thought you should play their game not speedrun to the credits
>>
>>746014918
This game will flop then, nobody wants a game with strict time limits and being locked away from doing everything with time progressing taking away content from you. Im not paying to get myself cucked from the game.
>>
>>746015481
You can literally speedrun to the credits exactly because of the system being in place, though.
>>
Can someone explain for the people who aren't terminally online and/or don't consume every pre-release info that spoils the novelty of the game?
>>
>>746015727
Some pollaks got pissed off by Keanu Chungus rewriting cyberpunk, fucked off from cdpr and decided to make a blood and wine with time limit from the 3rd act of c2077

They already have funding for more than 1 game and have already spoiled the ending
>>
>>746015727
There is a fuckton of side quests, but you need to do the main story or your family dies
>>
>>746015551
I hate this board more and more every day. Not sure why I still come here.
>Waaah don't EVER do anything different. Always makes games exactly as I want!!!
>What? I can't do everything in one playthrough and must instead make decisions about who to save or what path to to down? You've triggered my autism!!!
And then you wonder why AAA studios only ever play it safe and crap out the same slop year after year.
>>
>>746015296
>to experience everything the game gives you need to replay it twice
>good design
You are retarded
>>
>>746016134
>"to experience everything the game gives you need to replay it"

>yuros absolutely love it, murricans and other brownskins hate it
hmm

Piranha bytes is dead, anon.
>>
I never liked time restraints in games, even in older ones and even if its generous like dead rising
it always feels like I have to rush shit or miss out
>>
>>746013814
I don't mind replaying if the game is worth it
>>
>>746013814
>>746016043
What? That sucks. I was hyped for this game but not really anymore.i always do sidequests before the main story.

KCD did that and it was highly successful.
central european devs love to make elitist games that have obscure systems that aren't directly communicated to the player.
>>
>>746016054
>Make tedious game with set in stone protagonist with no roleplaying capabilities or customization
>What do you mean you don't want to replay it from scratch to see the other half variants? Wow cancel videogames, you are ENTITLED!
And so no fucks were given.
>>
>>746016301
You are wrong. Every game has dull boring segments, this will be no different. If I would need to fucking mine in mass effect 2 again to get the full story, or play the battle of ostaghar in DA origins I would fucking uninstall.
>>
People are retarded FAGGOTS who claims to want things but do not actually want it other than in theory.
This is the same as actual 20 iq drooling vegetables saying that in Skyrim if you do not defeat Alduin in time he should actually eat the world and game should be over...for what purpose? In what way other than hypothetical intellectual knowledge that this mechanic is there does this affect your gameplay in a positive manner?
I understand if we are talking about a roguelite or some kind of a game where constantly replaying is part of the baked in gameplay, but no one can reasonably replay a fucking hundred+ hour RPG infinite amount of times, usually at most you have a couple of alternative builds/guilds/ending playthroughs and your main playthrough that has 1k hours or something just for fucking around. Who the fuck in actual reality not in your fantasy has the time to replay the same stale intro, the same 80% of identical game over and over just to witness one slightly different quest?
MAYBE if the whole game is structured like Disco Elysium where reconstructing your characters identity is almost part of the overarching gameplay, but even then in reality Disco becomes stale after your third playthrough.
People live in LALA LAND, they CLAIM they want certain things but they do not actually ever INTEND TO PLAY SAID THINGS BECAUSE IT WOULD SUCK TO PLAY.

there is literally nothing wrong with that proposal and only casual newgens would oppose it.
>>
>>746016481
The reason why is because KCD also has light immersive sim elements that allow for interactivity with the world and just "living" in it.
Dawnwalker does not have an interactive enough world to justify it, it is much more static and almost entirely relies on in quest narrative choices.
>>
>>746016540
Nice pasta faggot
>>
>>746016481
In KCD you are not punished but forced. Thats a big difference you fucking retard.

Fuck AAA, fuck Bethesda, fuck Todd and fuck instant gratification retards.
Pic related needs to die
>>
>>746016610
Again this does not apply to Fallout because has enough randomized, some would even call it Radiant, content to justify wasting time in that world.
Dawnwalker is literally Witcher lite.
>>
>>746014918
This. People literally seething that the RPG is too much of an RPG lmao
>>
>>746016665
You aren't forced to do Pestilence quest. But if you don't do it in time you are not only get a bad ending to the quest, you are locked out of one of the DLCs.
KCD is punishing as hit.
>>
>>746016614
Not a pasta.
>>746016668
There is a big difference between AAA and actually understanding purpose of game design.
You can cope and seethe all you want but certain aspects of game design simply do not work at all. For example another one is this retarded idea of cities that have true to life gigantic scale but only 1% of it is interactive...for what purpose? If the city does not justify itself you are just viewing a pretty 3D model in engine. Nigger open unreal or blender and just download shit from sketchfab at that point.
If a game can not justify its size through content, it existing just for eye candy is the biggest sign of LOW IQ that one can find.
>>
>>746016728
Not an RPG at all though.
>>
>>746016681
>>746016612
What a stupid and retarded excuse.
You don't even know exactly how the mechanic is going to work for Dawnwalker...you are literally talking out of your ass
>>
>>746016369
There is no "time restraint" from what I gather. You have infinite time to do anything you want. Time is only advanced by doing story missions and you can do or delay that at your leisure. You can do as many side quests as you possibly can before doing the story mission.

There are branching story missions where picking one thing locks you out of the other. That's what has low IQ mutts riled up. tl,dr
>WAAAAAAH, YOUR CHOICES HAVE CONSEQUENCES :(((((
>>
>>746014918
Game does not have enough of an impact and variety on the character, like Disco Elysium for example would have, to justify locking away content in such a manner.
It is also not a snappy game, it is a typical AAA cinematic slop with prolonged content so experiencing all of it just simply becomes unpleasant and annoying through handholding cinematic approach.
>>
>>746016792
My first impressions are always objectively correct, it is Witcher lite thats it

The fact that the timer doesn't work in real time, but it advances only when you do side quests, makes me think that this is a constraint to make sure that you are not over levelled for certain main quests.
I have a feeling this was implemented because it was really easy in Witcher 3 to overlevel in the starting area then Skellige was insanely easy afterwards.
>>
I don't know why, but from what i've seen so far, it looks and plays too similarly with TW3, and i just, can't really get fully on board with it.

This is GOTY 2026 already, by default, due to filtering out casual cattle angry about Choice and Consequence in an RPG.
>>
>>746016794
You are a fucking retarded lying shill. Every side quest activates the timer.
>>
>>746017391
Sounds cool, means the main quest can be more tightly designed instead of being a cakewalk due to be overleved or a shitty bore due to level scaling.
>>
>>746016993
Same exact retards will bitch about Fallout 1s and Dead Rising 1s timer.

They should be playing Sony moviegame shit, that's where they belong, though that's what CDPozzed Red tried to appeal with Witcher 3.
>>
>>746013814
You literally don't have to rescue your family if you don't want to. You ca play every quest and when the timer passes, the game will continue as normal.
>>
>>746017759
>dude just get the bad ending lmao
Kys shill

Toddy boy can't and couldn't do it all the time though.

>are you punished for playing the side content? You are not actually punished, thats a choice goy
>>
>>746018313
Ok I give you 30 minutes to go and replay the snow tutorial mission in rdr2. Tick tock
>>
>>746018329
how are you punished? the only main quest is the "save your family" one, doing sidequests will help you to prepare for it

this game has a lot bigger underlying issues like the combat, UI, performance and dull ubislop style openworld
>>
>>746018026
first part of act 1 is timed and you can miss a lot of things
it's before you get called back to defend the tavern
>>
Aaaagh help me nigger man my role playing game is making me play a role!
>>
They are being very vague about what happens after the timer runs out. They said the game does not end there but like what do they mean by that. Does that just mean it goes into a short linear section or will the open world still be there to explore
>>
>>746013814
How so?
>>
I like the voice for the main character. He has a pleasant sounding voice.
>>
>>746019312
You just fail to save your family. That's it.
>>
>>746019312
Sasha Baron Coen's family fucking dies and he turns into a chud vampire instead of a tragic hero one
>>
>>746015296
>Replaying the game and choosing a different path is the superior experience everytime.
Depends how it is done; if it is like Witcher 2 then yes, but if it is just bad guy wears red outfit instead of blue, then it is bad.
