the audio mixing is SO FUCKING BAD
It's an old unc game. What did you expect?
>>746015006Funny how you didn't complain about this for the past 19 years
>>746015006Why yes anon I DID see the l8est kinoest vid from mandylur gayming. You fucking advertising scum
>>746015006That's true of most vidya
>>746015006it was an early gen 7 game, so it was always doomed to have a terrible PC port.Hope it gets a recomp someday
>>746015409is it better on console? i played it on 360 back in the day and definitely remember needing subtitles on
>>746015006Are you playing remaster? It's propably cause of this
such a good game doe
>>746015439>is it better on console? Not really.360 is basically forced to 30fps, since unlocked is miserable and only about ~45fps most of the time. It's slightly better on Xbox 1, but still unstable and nowhere near solid 60
Shut your trap you eceleb cocksucker
>>746015006Fuck off Mandalore
>>746015439The overall quality of the audio is pretty bad on the PS4 Remaster
>>746015006Is it just me or is there like a full second audio delay between what's actually happening on screen?
Is it a "complaining about audio without disclosing your setup" moment?
>>746015006The game itself is and always was dogshit too, no idea why people like this garbage
>>746015006The gameplay too.Game has always been overrated shit.
>>746015006>https://youtube.com/watch?v=ynYUdrctiTc
>waaahh gameplay is bad because it doesn't play like Apex Legume, a game that came out 10 years later weeehhhh
Console control, aim like a fucking drunk, special abilities - most of them useless, game not really immersive sim as some people portray it, respawning enemies, reviving tanks, qsave and qload take eternity.Everything rest, like how game look and atmosphere and art direction are great.
>>746019256fuck off. for 2007 game it was amazing. Just for the art direction it was enough. now GPU can reach 100TFLOPS and I am still getting shit looking AI slop or UE5 default mud asset that is 1/4 as good as bioshock is.
if you play the "remastered" version you kinda need thishttps://www.mulderland.com/en/games/bioshock-remastered
>>746020552half life 1 has better gameplay
>>746015409>terrible PC portI thought it was flawless. Runs perfectly, looks incredible. Now BS2 had an awful port. Looked a generation behind BS1.
>>746015006You gotta install OpenAL for audio and change the corresponding setting in the ingame-menu.https://sourceforge.net/projects/pb-openal-sdk.implib.p/files/PureBasic_OpenAL_SDK.zip/downloadthis works for original bioshock. idk about remastered though.
>>746015006Yes, I also watched the Mandy video.
>>746015006Did someone make a youtube video about 20 yo game?
>>746023330yesbut he didn't even watch it seems, because mandalore's video doesn't say the audio mixing is per se bad, just that it's buggy and tends to cut out if there are a lot of audio sources
>>746015006This game came out when people were using tinny turtle beach headsets or, maybe Allah forgive this utterance, built-in TV stereo.
>>746023330Im just playing it because it was on sale on steam again for the first time in a while i didnt know about the eceleb video
>>746015006Dunno about 1 but the PC port of 2 had legitimately broken audio that wasn't meant to sound that way and it never got patched. iirc starting the Protector Trials used to partially fix it but not sure if that works anymore
>>746024049The worst audio possible would keep getting repeated. That unspeakably grating Big Sister theme.
Tried playing picrel since I never got around to finishing it and I keep randomly getting crashes to desktop. Despite fucking around with the settings for an hour and checking the pcgamingwiki, I wasn't able to get it to work :(Is there a reason all the Bioshock games are so fucked on PC?
>>746016874>I NEEEEEEEEEED 60 FPS OKAY I JUST DOOOOOOOOOOlol faggot
>>746024206I don't know if this applies to Bioshock 2, but random crashes with these late 32-bit games is often caused by the default 2GB RAM limit. Try this if you already haven't:https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Windows#Set_older_32-bit_games_to_use_4_GB_RAM_instead_of_2
>>746024206get this https://www.nexusmods.com/bioshock2/mods/28?tab=descriptionand do this:Open the d3d11.ini file provided by this mod and make the following three changes: Under the [Textures.D3D11] section, change Cache=true to Cache=false. Under the [Render.DXGI] section, change IsolateD3D11DeferredContexts=false to IsolateD3D11DeferredContexts=true. Under the [Steam.System] section, change AutoInjectSteamAPI=true to AutoInjectSteamAPI=false.Bonus tips for absolute stability:Edit the game's own Bioshock2SP.ini (located in %appdata%\BioshockHD\Bioshock2) and make these changes:- Set HavokNumThreads=2.- Set TextureStreamingMemoryLimit=2048 (or 4096 if you have plenty of VRAM).- Set TextureStreamingDistanceLimit=10000.I replayed the trilogy a week ago and only had a single loading screen crash in 2, 1 had many loading screen crashes so always quicksave before changing levels, I remember 2 remaster had constant combat crashes and it was unplayable 10 years ago but this was fine after applying those steps above
>>746025670>>746025801I'll try both of these out, thanks a lot.
>>746024049i know the remastered version fixed the bug that meant the vending machines didn't play audio
