Damn... It really do be like that....
>>746017310>defeat>extremely pissed, rest of day ruined>victory>feel nothingthat's when I decided I have had enough of Dota 2
>>746017310No, that just means that you are a depressed faggot.
>>746017310i do a victory dance every time i winned
>>746017310Welcome to EOMM. That win? A carefully calculated freebie against noobs so you get your dopamine hit to keep playing. Defeat? You've won too many, now you will be used as canon fodder for a bunch of sweaties due for some wins.
>>746017380That's just loss aversion, losses feeling worse than wins feeling good is an aspect of every part of your life
>>746017824Idk kinda sounds like conspiratorial copium due to sucking shit ass from the butt
>>746017895It's probably not as widespread and egregious as a lot of people think, but companies do experiment with player retention and psychology. If you have players that suck and constantly lose, they're not going to play. Then they won't buy battle passes and shit.
>>746017895>Saying this in 2026Impressive how long do some people stay ignorant. Did you discover competitive games like a year ago or something?EOMM absolutely hands you a certain amounts of guaranteed wins and losses just to keep you grinding. This was tested in so many games with similar systems and the result was always the same.Even that leaked patent for it stated that humans react best to a "reward, sometimes" systems. Hence a bunch of stomps both ways and then all of a sudden you get an actually tight and exciting match that is fun to play no matter if you win or lose.
Victory and Defeat are meaninglessWhat you gain from the struggle is the only thing that mattersYou have to decide what you want and if you're getting that
>>746018102I think developers struggle too much with queue times to dedicate a large portion of their matchmaker to psychoanalysing every single player just to make sure the losers don't kill themselves Casinos prove that pure RNG is addicting enough without additional massaging, their job is minimising the delay between roulette spins
>>746019184>This was tested in so many games with similar systems and the result was always the same.can I have a link to one of these "tests"?
>>746017310you feel like that because you won but you didn't feel like you improvedeven if you suck, matchmaking makes it look like you win at least 50% of your games. What matters is if your strategy improved or not
>>746019184>Hence a bunch of stomps both ways and then all of a sudden you get an actually tight and exciting match that is fun to play no matter if you win or lose. This sums of BF6 to a T, and I don't recall it ever being like that back in BF2, for example. Every round is a steamroll against one side. Winning or losing by 700+ tickets. Then after 4 or 5 games of steamrolls, I'll get a match that seems pretty evenly matched and close. Winning or losing by maybe 30-100 tickets. Those matches really are the best.
Same but
>Victory>I doubt I contributed anything to the win>Defeat>My shit skill cost us the game
