its squeezing every last drop that it can out of the dark souls formulait was good for a little bit because that formula was good for a reason, but fromsoft has also been moving away from what actually made the first games more and more with each gamedark souls 3 actually kind of had a nice balance with the combat, but then nothing else about the game was interesting at all, and i couldnt stand looking at it after a whilejust like how i cant stand looking at elden ring nowi mean what else is there to say about these stupid fucking games at this point. if the next single player game isn't something completely different im probably done.

I do like Elden Ring a lot (played for nearly 200 hours) but I do feel the experience pales in comparison to the previous games in terms of overall level design and the open world itself. Way too much copy and paste dungeons, with copy and pasted enemies and bosses. The legacy dungeons are great, but they're so few and far between all the running around the world that it feels very unfulfilling. Replay value is really only dependent on what kind of build you wanna do, and even then there's only so many options. Still a fun game but it pales in comparison to the rest of the souls games.
