Did you like Silent Hill f?
>>
>>746020331
yes, japanese girls are cute and they deserve protection from arranged marriages with ugly bastard tagged men
>>
Playing it now. Enjoying the atmosphere and story so far (just reached the school), but man the combat is fucking dogshit
>>
It's alright. Better than Silent Hill N
>>
>>746020331
>hag faced protagonist
>parry shit combat

I refuse to buy this garbage
>>
>>746020331
I refuse to play it because of the combat. It's always been a mistake to have a Silent Hill game with a combat focus, because none of them end up having good enough combat systems to warrant it. It wouldn't be as bad if it weren't for the slow motion on every single fucking hit.

>>
>>746020331
It was alright I guess. Super fucking repetitive to get all the story/endings.
>>
>>746020331
No. The original 4 made by Team Silent will always be the best. Origins and Homecoming were okay. I was just glad to hear Yamaoka back for the soundtracks.
>>
>>746020331
It was aight, better than everything that came after The Room at least.
>>
>>746020647
We both know she doesn’t look like that in game
>>
>>746020647
Yes, hag. She looks 40.
>>
I tried Silent Hill 1 but it was boring. I feel like I would like F.
>>
Sex with asians
>>
>>746020402
Nah, all women deserve to be raped and blackmailed by ugly bastards.
>>
I'm pretty mixed on it. I played a bit more today of my final hardmode run. Back at the school.
The combat is whatever you think of it, but it bothers me how unscary the game is.
>>
>>746020331
Can't wait for Silent Hill n.
>>
>>746020331
Excellent game. Breath of fresh air in a genre overflowing with westoid pandering slop.
>>
I LOVE ADO!!
>>
>>746020331
she has weird eyes and not like the way you're thinking
>>
>my family is forcing me to marry chad and I kinda like him yet I don't want to do it because I want to explore myself first
what was her problem exactly?
>>
I liked it but I wish the areas were bigger, like the Hospital in SH2R.
The hitstop was way overdone and should have been a menu option, I used a mod to reduce it to like 10%.

THAT PART was super disturbing, but in a good way.
>>
>>746020331
I wanted to buy it but the gameplay looks awful. I don't even mind it not being a real Silent Hill game, but I can't get past the gameplay footage I saw.
>>
>>746020906
Homecoming and Origins aren't even 5/10 compared to the recent games
>>
>>746022484
>westoid slop
>it's sub-par
Many such cases
>>
>>746022456
The gameplay is basically your standard dodge/parry/deflect souls clone, not amazing but better than dumb shit like 3-hit spin combos from the western games.
>>
Yes but I can see why people wouldn't. You need to really into the story, setting and characters. Luckily I'm a huge faggot for Japanese folk horror
>>
>>746020331
I liked Hinako
>>
Doesn't this "silent hill" game have straight up devil trigger where the little japanesehigh school girl turns into a werewolf and you go around comboing and shadow stepping enemiees?
>>
>>746022307
Woman moment
>>
Yes, it was great. I've been wanting to replay it again recently even though I already got all the endings.
>>
>>746022307
Bitch was on some otherwordly psych meds and was having a wild woman moment.
>>
>>746024932
>Doesn't this "silent hill" game have straight up devil trigger
No. It's called "woman moment".
>>
The story has even more depth than Silent Hill 2's. You just need to understand Japanese culture and folklore to really grasp it.

>When some of them contradict the others and one is a UFO ending as series tradition

Is his IQ simply higher than everybody elses or is he bullshitting
>>
>>746020331
I loved it. I liked Hinako, her story, cutscene direction, sound design, unraveling the lore and the little details here and there.
Also liked all the posers acting like replaying a Silent Hill game to get other endings was outrageous.
>>
>>746020331
It's supposed to be a horror game, but I'm looking at combat that has ridiculous amounts of hitstop. How could anyone stomach that shit? It looks so bad.
Don't care for the protag and the snippets of story I've seen.
>>
>>746026349
Does she have screaming powers too?
>>
>>746020331
I really enjoyed it and played through it 3 times back to back, which is a very rare thing to do for me
its also the only SH I ever played
>>
>>746020331
I liked it up to the point where I learned you have to play through the game multiple times to get the actual ending. I hate that shit in games
>>
>>746030171
That's pretty much all SH games though. I hated the fox arm combat action game it turns to later and lack of enemy variety. It's just the same reskinned marionette 30 thousands times. Also no guns in a silent hill game is fucking lame.
>>
>>746020647
Funny, if you to remove girl from this picture but leave makeup intact then you'll see the same picture minus hair and clothes.
With such makeup she must be really gross, like rotting fish tier gross.
>>
>>746026136
Ryukishi07 is writing the Manga adaptation with another new ending.
>>
>>746030403
>That's pretty much all SH games though
Lying tourist. Not true at all. You could get a satisfying ending in SH1,2, and 4 on your first playthrough. 3 was the odd-man out with only really one ending (there is a bad ending but is very unsatisfying. Oh, also the UFO ending.)
>>
>>746020331
Yeah. It's much better than 3, but not as good as 1, 2 or 4.

>>746030638
I meant from a many endings standpoint. Geez relax anon.
>>
>>746020331
Starts fine, but the combat gets more obnoxious and unfun as the game progresses. The school is the peak of the game and feels like an actual Silent Hill game which is great, but it nosedives after that with the werewolf transformation garbage (not fun, not scary, not even COOL). The biggest sin of all is that you have to replay the game multiple times to get the real ending and they were too lazy to make each playthrough feel distinct which is an ultimate gaming sin considering the dogshit combat.
4/10, hard to recommend.
>>
>>746030841
Okay, then you can't read, because anon wasn't complaining about multiple endings, but the requirement of playing the game multiple times to get a real ending since the first one you're forced into is so unsatisfying.
>>
>>746030638
Satisfying is subjective. You can argue people can find the normal ending in F satisfying. On the other hand, it's very easy to miss the true ending in 1, and to get an "unsatisfying" ending in 2.
I can agree that F is clearly made with multiple playthroughs in mind, while it's not mandatory in the originals.
>>
>>746030403
They had multiple endings, but I don't think they locked you out of any endings on your first playthrough like f does
>>
>>746031012
There is no "true" ending in 1, since 1 wasn't written with a true ending in mind and it wasn't codified which was true until SH3, tourist.
None of the base SH2 endings are unsatisfying, they all thematically match how you played James.
>>
>>746020331
It has plenty of annoying little things but I think it was still very unique and enjoyable. and it had a very good art direction.
It's interesting how every characters are presented very humanly, none of them are truly bad or truly good.
>>
>>746022307
tbf the fox chad also want to explore his life first. it's a story about wanting to live your life with your own choices and not being forced by anyone or anything else. Family, friends, or gods.
>>
>>746020331
i thought it was ok. the gameplay was the weakest part for sure and ryukishi is a hack

i think townfall looks more interesting though, i'm excited for it
>>
>>746031241
Oh, you're one of those histrionic, hair-splitting fans... yawn.
Anyway, I liked playing and replaying F as much as I liked playing and replaying the originals (to get all the endings!) before you were "codified."
>>
The dark shrine area you are stuck in for 50% of the runtime is insanely boring. Knowing that it's supposed to serve as the otherworld equivalent made it even worse. I did not care for the game.
>>746031549
Townfall actually looks like a survival horror game, which is a bonus.

>>
>>746020331

>>
>>746031860
Kojimbo's game was going to be super different too. as he himself said he didn't care about the series. his next horror game is likely what it was going to look like.

Pointing out that you're just wrong about SH1 isn't hair-splitting. Telling you a cat is a cat, not a dog is also not hair-splitting.

I really loved the game up until my second playthrough. I got to the end of the game and then got floored 3000 times by the end boss. He has an unescapable unparryable attack from above that just one hit kills me, and the battle doesn't drop enough healing items. What's worse is that you can't consume 70% of the healing items in the game (red pills) because then you get the first (bad) ending, which I already got the first time around.
Just watched the endings on YouTube instead. Not my finest moment. Overall, a solid 7 or 8/10.

I like the experimentation and the fact it has balls as a game (enough to aggressively change the formula and flow of combat), reminds me somewhat of a sixth gen game, like RE4. But with that being said, it is still a game you will only like if you're into Japanese action games with parrying and dodge mechanics. And the "horror" aspects itself verge into the ungrounded and fantastical more than any other horror game. It's so much more "anime" than the other games with the fox masks and werewolf arm.

I'd put it above all of the western games, including SH2R, but below SH1-4. Something that would've really put the cherry on top of this game is if they added a mercenaries-style mode where you just rack up combos tearing the enemies apart with your sick wolf abilities.
>>
I did not like it. Ultimately I think my dislike comes down to the setting just not clicking with me. I think I prefer the more urban look the series is known for rather than what is essentially a peasant village out in the sticks.
>>
>>746020331
Yeah, I just finished getting all the endings and got all the trophies. I enjoyed Ryukishi07's writing for it, but it was a slog to beat it 3 and a half times to get the whole story. One thing I never got is why Hinako's sleeve was ripped after she woke up from Rinko pushing her, but it wasn't ripped in that Dark Shrine segment. Every other time her clothes got ripped it coincided with her actions in the Dark Shrine story, except her sleeve, which got ripped later on. I also don't get why they never showed adult Hinako, especially in the 4th ending, feels like a missed opportunity.
>>
>>746032061
I don't remember this scene in sh4.
>>
>>746033467
It is real - when peeking through into her room you get to see it (can't remember if the various activities she is doing is random or changes depending on where you are in the game).
>>
>>746032563
I think she's implied the Hinako we are seeing IS the adult Hinako. Just her clothing who are different due to avoiding reality and that she's a 25+ years old in reality.
Though in ending 2 I think we see her in her wedding dress, but her face is obscured (and on the ground)
>>
>>746020331
I'll get it when it's 75% off.
>>
>>746020331
Not at all and I've bought it full price

Won't be touching it again and haven't completed it (go to like 80% until it really started to piss me off)
>>
I've always found it kind of funny how /v/ memes about Hinako being a fearless DMC protagonist murdering everything in her path, but in-game she's actually quite weak in combat with a limited dodge/stamina meter and is in hysterics for half the game. Meanwhile James is a borderline sociopath who murders sex dolls while expressionless and has infinite stamina and full i-frame dodges.
>>
Since there's one, how's the game english dub?
>>
>>746035489
From what I heard it's OK, it can sometimes sound like bad anime dubbing, but if that doesn't bother you it's decent.

Out of the post Team Silent games, this is the only one that really wowed me in a good way. My only complaint is that I wish they let her use a Bow or a Crossbow during the town sections, if they didn't want her using firearms, for some form of ranged combat.

God I wanted to see what these girls looked like as hags so badly.
>>
>>746041461
I think they all look relatively the same as they do, Hinako just see them with their old outfits due to a mix of delusion and drugs
They all got pretty grim futures
Partner-kun I believe failed to become a doctor and so just started doing weird shit with white claudia
Autism-kun didn't managed to really do anything after high school (she wanted to be a priestess but it's said it's almost impossible anymore due to changing times) and so just stayed stuck and often ignored by everyone while being angry as hell at Hinako for her "abandoning her"
>Yandere kun just stayed seething for years at Hinako in a weird extreme hate-extreme love relationship, with her both angry at her "stealing" Partner-kun while also angry at her for "hurting his feelings", it's also hinted she stayed so stuck on those feelings she wasn't able to really do anything.

The entire group also are NEET living with their family.
