You can pull off some incredible juggles and combos, and just in the course of the boss rush gameplay you can slot some really varied gameplay styles. All counters, short cooldown eikon spam, get a stagger then shoot off 4 ults in a row, shit like that. It’s just a shame that the framing and pacing of the game is so tedious and like other anons have said the story COMPLETELY falls off a cliff in the second act. It’s a tough video game to love, but I think I’m gonna revisit it and try to get through ultimania mode because the dmc gameplay when it’s actually balanced against reasonable difficulty isn’t just passable… it’s probably one of the best executions of that subgenre. You wouldn’t know it from normal mode though.
