Is archery a stealth skill?

Stealth archery is

>Is archery a stealth skill?
In morrowind, oblivion, and skyrim, archery belongs to the stealth specialization
>>
>>746030380
As it should, archery irl makes no sense if it's out in the open, enemies can just side step that bitch with ease
>>
>>746029773
Don't listen to those niggers above—archers, just like crossbowmen, are warriors; stealth means sneaking around, avoiding detection, spotting traps, picking locks, etc.

Hmm, is that a concious decision that the developers made and a one that my autism doesn't agree with? Must be a bug.
>>
>>746029773
In the vanilla game yes, but USSEP changes it to a Warrior skill
>>
>>746030896
Ebony mine status?
>>
>>746029773
there is no way the developers intentionally decided to have this affect archery, clearly a bug that must be removed
>>
>>746030616
do you know how fast an arrow is? by the time you twitch your leg muscles to move you're already hit

Pick up a history book.

No real autist could reach such a conclusion, he must have some other kind of mental illness

Time for stealth haha
>>
>>746031878
Inside the cities too, which didn't happen in oblivion.
>>
>>746031878
The funniest thing about this is that in Oblivion they collapsed instantly after they were shut off.
>>
>>746029773
It can be and is genuinely most effective when it is.

Stealth is just as OP IRL as it is in vidya.
>>
>>746030672
Bows are commonly used by hunters, and being a hunter usually requires a degree of stealth so as not to alert your prey.
>>
>>746033784
The Guardian Stones have those spread unevenly with 6 magic skills, 5 combat skills and 7 stealth skills. Still, this is obviously an exception done for the thief archetype to have a combat skill and 'fixing' this doesn't belong in a bug fixing mod.
>>
>>746029773
It has natural synergy with stealth yes.
>>
>>746029773
I don't get the wank for the stealth archer build. It's a boring playthrough.
>>
>>746037324
How is it any less boring than full charging in without even a semblance of a plan or casting nukes from out of reach? At least it demands problem solving unlike every other class which happen to be braindead unless you gimp yourself on purpose
>>
>>746037324
>boring playthrough.
skyrim combat is boring no matter what the first play through is carried by exploration and novelty of seeing all the places and quests for the first time and even then it starts too get old way before you are done with everything
Don't get me wrong I liked it a lot in 2011 but the only time I tried to replay it I got bored of it 2 hours in
>>
>>746030896
They had to give a combat skill to rogues because daggers are under One-Handed, which is a warrior skill.
Absolutely retarded move to merge four different weapon types under a single skill tree.
>>
>>746037324
Its a fake cultural memory, atroturfed from modern day to the past. Only the super try hards played stealth archer because they were playing on super hard mode. Most people just played spellsword and used shouts.
>>

Game theory: stealth archery is the most broken skill because the Dragonborn was living a hunter-gatherer life in the Jerrals so he's already a natural stealth archer
>>
>>746037442
Being an open powerhouse is way funner than slow long sneaky sneak where you retreat and wait a minute after every shot..
>>
>>746038316
This guy actually played the game.
>>
>>746037860
Oblivion was the stealth archery game because the thieves guilld and dark brotherhood quests were the best ones, and you could jump on top of houses and guards couldn't hurt you.
Then everyone attempted to replicate this experience in skyrim.
>>
>>746037860
The fake cultural memory is you retroactively pretending it doesn't exist because you don't like it. Sneak crit sniper abusing the retard npcs was everywhere from oblivion into fallout because it's the easiest and strongest tactic by far.
>>
>>746037324
It's fun.
>>
>>746038689
nta but he's right stealth archery is only relevant at high difficulty 90% of people that played skyrim on release(probably more like 99% but I want to be generous) were casuals and normies that played on the default difficulty where you can just stand still and trade hits with everything until it dies
He never said it doesn't exist you straw manning faggot only that it was a thing only a small minority of tryhards did which is true
that narrative that it was so prevalent or even the most common way to play is 100% revisionism by that small minority because they are way more likely to still be discussing the game 15 years later than all the milllions of aforementioned normies and causals
>tl dr
you are wrong and literally autistic
>>
>>746041227
Pretending to be someone else doesn't really work in service of such a specific, autistic and wrong attempt at revisionism. It was never about difficulty (there is none) it was entirely because sniper crits are cool and satisfying to the average gamer's monkey brain so it becomes the default opener to pretty much any combat encounter, whether its chunking a hp sponge boss or picking off townspeople without starting a fight.

The only people who don't do it are literal subhuman cavemen who don't know how or deliberate roleplayers forcing themselves not to.
>>
>>746037324
People liked the damage multipliers and found fun in that. Liked combat archer more myself.

>autistic retard cant conceive two people might disagree with him on something and cries about le samefagging
Lmao why is this so common? What would the first anon even gain by pretending to be a second person? It's so pathetic and doubly so when done to me since I have such a distinct writing style
I guess it's just like you can't conceive your experience(or those of the niche bubble you were in) is not universal or how you can tell the difference between "only some people did it" and "it didn't exist" because you can only think in binary absolutes
The reason for all the above is literal autism and the low IQ kind at that
>>
>>746042312
>What would I gain by pretending to be a second person?
Reinforcing your headcanon as the popular consensus to gaslight who you're arguing with as the odd man out.

On the contrary there is in fact no other purpose to identify yourself as someone else on an anonymous basket weaving forum if your opinion is exactly the same anyway, as the response will still be that you're wrong and retarded.
>>
>>746037324
>It's a boring playthrough.
Thats the whole point of it. Skyrim doesnt offer you any rewards for using a variety of weapons or combat styles. Its a boring easily digestable experience. And thus with repetition every player is funneled torwards taking out enemies fast from a distance without having to engage them outside of breaking up the monotony. The average player however instead of looking at this and realizing Skyrim isnt such a great game doesnt even think about any of this, they simply find the path of least resistance and keep going because they get enjoyment out of killing and looting shit over and over, no matter how its accomplished. Skyrim is shit and because most players love eating shit they love Skyrim.

archery is a combat skill

Well done, anon! Your investigation gave OP the answer he asked for... or did it? You failed to read between the lines, anon. This is a autistic drama thread, not a generic question thread!
>>
>>746037324
it's the only build that makes the game easy, that's why
