It's just getting patched too or/and an expansion after a long time which will fix some of the major issues people had with it, like the number of skills you're allowed to have active increasing

Anyone saying play XVI for the story should hang themselves. It's a gutless, no balls narrative that thinks sex and swearing means mature, while they don't have the balls to make Joshua die by Clive's hand and they fumble the worldbuilding so badly that the setting feels more like Medieval Naruto than Westeros. DD2 may not have much story to offer but I'd say you're better off with a game that has no story and decent gameplay than a game with both a shit story and shit gameplay.

FF16 has better characters and story, make sure to skip all the dogshit side-quests though besides the HuntsI played DD2 for far longer and enjoyed the gameplay more, be sure to use some mods to crank up the difficulty it's a tad too easy even on first playthrough
