RTS is about everything. From the micro and the tactics, to the macro and the strategies. Every aspect must be utilised to win, for an absence in any will end in your demise. 98% of people think they can multitask, but they can't. What they're actually doing is rapidly switching between tasks. You need to be capable of true multitasking to succeed in an RTS. Microing your units, orchestrating tactical maneuvers, changing your expansion trajectory and speed, modifying unit compositions and shifting your strategy at all times. It truly is the greatest test of the human. Total human utilization. Every neuron, every muscle, every gene, and even your hair. Adrenaline, goosebumps, erections. All. Everything. Everything is used to play an RTS. It's the greatest sport to exist in all of humanity.

Games are supposed to have breaks for flow.
>>
>>746034768
Since when? I don't remember breaks in Tetris.
>>
>>746034768
Not everyone is a pathetic zoomer that needs breaks from fucking video games of all things.
>>
>>746034407
>not mentioning C&C, Age of Empires, DoW
weird but okay
>>
>>746035260
Tetris kills you by the time it gets unbearable and starts slow rather than 300 apm bullshit.
>>
>>746037421
I can't think of a single RTS game that doesn't start off really slow. Maybe SC2?Just don't play SC2. It's really funny actually because most retards complain the early game is too slow rather than it being too fast or requiring 300 apm.

OP is a fag.

Zero-K starts off fast. It's a game for men. The first factory is free and can be instantly placed, and you will start queueing units within the first second heading towards the enemy while you expand.

Congratulations then, I hope you're able to get some zerok discussion for once. I might try it again, I ended up playing bar instead because I have a friend who plays it but I don't like the factions so I stopped playing it. I prefer how zerok has a bunch of different factories and everyone can use whichever.

I did not like Zero-K specifically because of that. You have much less time to think and plan. I didn't really like how nimble most units are either. Game's too fast compared to supcom which is what I'm used to
>>
>>746039207
If you need time to think, do that before you place your commander.
>>
>>746039207
Part of the game is having a plan before you go in and this applies to many games, even turn based games like chess want you have a plan, even singleplayer games like souls game you'll do better with a plan for how to take down a difficult boss vs just throwing yourself at it mindlessly dodging and r1ing, even RTS campaigns don't want you going in blind and bumbling about. Many RTS campaign missions will honestly feel like puzzles with how they have 1 specific solution and trying anything but that is a loss. Really, I can't think of a single game where it doesn't benefit you to think about what you're doing and why you're doing it before you actually start doing it. You should always have a plan, video games are babby compared to the shit you need to plan out to live a decent life in current year.

Wut? RTS is frontloaded with heavy activity like 'build two houses', 'split the sheep', 'put 3 on wood', 'lure the first boar' and all that while scouting, cranking out new villagers and nudging your units around when they're acting stupid. Every day you'll be restarting just the first couple minutes of the game to train this shit until you can do it in your sleep.

Not every RTS is Age of Empires 2 and that's really not a lot of actions. They're also spread out over time. You are not luring the first boar while or even immediately after splitting sheep and chopping wood. Cranking out villagers is two key presses, don't even need to look away from whatever you're doing.

Only if you want to be good. Most people will never practice like that.
