you love not playing them

Play games that don't require you to look up guides. Alternatively, you could just play the game blind.

I usually go in blind until I hit a wall or take too long to progress on my own. I'm too old to waste too much time on useless padding on video games.
>>
>>746041445
What is the difference between this and just using hacks to grant yourself the item or teleport to a map? They're both just cheating
>>
>>746041445
You're not googling how to spawn wall of flesh because youll have accidentally done it multiple times as a newb

The entire appeal of Souls games is playing blind your first time and discovering things yourself. You are a retarded fag.

I had to look up what to do in Octopath Traveler when you get to chapter 2 because the difficulty spike was insane. All the NPCs and lore and story mention nothing about the unmarked shrines that you're supposed to get first.
>>

wtf did you just say to me you bigoted piece of shit ??????? I ACTUALLY can't believe you would say this to me. I'm just stunned, absolutely petrified that some INCEL like you can just hurt people on the internet with their words like this.
>>
>>746041445
Elden Ring is understandable. The game doesn't give any clue as to where to find stuff
>>
>>746044095
No it isn't. If you play Souls games blind you lose out on a huge chunk of hidden content. Just do everything and then look up what you missed. Best of both worlds.
>>
Based, old fags will talk shit because they had to pay for strategy guides back then.
>>
>>746044095
the entire appeal of souls games is telling people that you play souls games

I've never not played a persona without a social link guide to finish all the games content in a single playthrough. I will NEVER replay a JRPG

do people throw random stuff into the lava often?
>>
>>746046361
The demons carry it and they'll drop it when you kill them. It falls into the lava that permeates the area.
>>
>>746041445
you control the information you search
>>
>>746046467
fair enough
i knew of the wall's existence way before, so i started with covering the lava pits
>>
>>746041445
I do this very rarely as well because I don't like it when things go wrong. For exmaple a few years ago I fucked up Theresa's quest in VtM:B so I looked up how to do to save both and restarted on the spot to do it right.
>>
>>746046293
Going through this in Stellar Blade now. I tried for hours to find the hidden cans and little paintings you take pics of, but only got like 80%. The remaining 20% were so out of the way with very little help it have taken weeks of brute force exploring to find them all.

>>
>>746043694
the difference is that hacks reduce the difficulty of a game, but for games where the difficulty isn't the puzzles or wasting time, learning info is not gonna reduce difficulty, just cut time wasting

tboi never had a way of telling you the effects of items (until very very recently)
so, you would never even know what countless items and trinkets even do (mysterious paper for example) especially when they pile up and random shit start seeming really random, so that the next time you would just not pick up a weird item you could not figure out, which adds to the confusion

I've 100% tboi so many times without any mods or online guides, but I still think it's 100% justifiable to look up the wiki every now and then so that you optimize your play style
>>
>>746041445
there's nothing I hate more while playing than knowing there is a secret or easter egg I missed, I genuinely obsess so much that I always just end up giving up and looking up a guide, which also makes me even angrier that I could not figure it out myself

I still remember the shame and disappointment of not finding the last hero's shade and missing the whole climax of the questline in zelda tp, and getting an ending while the thought lingers in my head

>play elden ring
>google "strongest builds and weapon locations"
I have a friend that does this and says that elden ring is too ez because he looked up all the cheese strategies and weapons. I keep trying to explain to the retard that he basically cheated and that the game is difficult to people who play games blind.
That being said I did look up play through guides for elden ring because I only played once and the game locks you out of too many quest if you dont do things in some autistically cryptic order.

Maybe if you mean actually blind. Use your eyes and your brain and you'll find most of the hidden content on your first playthrough. Anything you miss you can find on the other playthroughs it'll take you to get the other endings anyway. Because surely you're not a cheating faggot who backs up your save to get all endings at once, right? You just look up stuff, you wouldn't cheat.

I looked up where to find the whip in ER for my Belmont playthrough and I have zero regrets

There are no guides if you don't look for them yourself. Open a game you've never played before and dont watch any content about it online, there you go

This was the only thing I had to look up at all in DS1. In my defense I wiped the rest of the game with my ass, I beat O&S in three tries, and putting parkour "puzzles" in a game with slippery slidey walkways and invisible walls fucking everywhere is retarded.

>Binding of Isaac
I played a shitload of BoI like 10 years ago but the original flash version. Playing Rebirth now, and there's so many items I've forgotten, and so, so many new ones.

So I just permanently have "Binding of isaac " ready to ctrl+v so I can figure out what these fucking trinkets and items actually do. This feels like the definition of a Wiki game, so many things aren't even hinted at in how they work, can't intuit shit.

I hate when devs try and balance their game around people like this.
>we dont want people to ruin the game for themselves so we made this reward randomized instead of being a cool hand picked i tem
who cares? let them ruin it for themselves and meta game. Just make the game as good as it can be for people who play normally and let the guide readers eat shit.
>>
>>746053370
he probably missed like 9/10 secrets but this part was the only part he "had" to look up because you actually need to do it to beat the game. I cant imagine a guy who didnt figure this part out figuring out how to get to ash lake
>>
>>746044571
Couldn’t you have done that from the beginning?
>>
>>746053749
I actually did but only by pure accident, I was testing out a claymore for the first time in that little area by the chest and hit the false wall, I found the bitch that starts the DLC when running back past the hydra spot because I didn't realize the ladder past it and the door you open with the crest from the blacksmith lead to the same area and I noticed the golden golem thingy there

That's the thing you can randomly blindly get the OP shit. There's nothing preventing this. That's why I call it for what it is a gear simulator.
