Are there any games which try to emulate an unpolluted night sky view?
>>746050692Skyrim and Elden Ring comes to mind oh and Final Fantasy 14
>>746050692I have never seen this irl
>>746050920pretty sure you had to be alive like 500 years ago
>>746050920It's borderline impossible. Even "rural" areas nowadays are filled with light pollution and all sorts of buildings.
I heard that some company will launch satellites into orbit that will reflect sunlight so you can have daylight on demand, which will only further increase light pollution. Also Nigger Musk is planning to launch a million+ data centers into orbit so the majority of "stars" you will see in the night sky will be artificial in the future.
>>746050692modded morrowind, skyrimthey always put big ass galaxy, tons of stars, sometimes even those magellan clouds
>>746050920You have to be in bumfuck nowhere 3 hours away from civilization in any direction and also have a not cloudy night.
>>746050920only oceans and sahara gets it
>>746050692space engine
>>746050920>>746050971Lol, no, nobody could see it like that because this is a long-exposure photo.I spent part of my childhood in the middle of fucking nowhere, where light pollution was practically nonexistent, and even so, the Milky Way in the sky looked like just a super faint white smudge, one you wouldn’t even notice if you didn’t pay attention.
>>746051017can't you drive out in the middle of the desert in nevada or new mexico or some shit and get a view like that? I don't think it's possible here in europe though
>>746051371
>>746050692Sad you can't see the wonder of it. Also sad that the mediums which once tried to capture wonder are perverted.
>>746051371This image I found seems pretty accurate, but in my experience, even that "naked eye" estimate is too generous.
>>746050692The night sky really makes you realize how insignificant and pointless everything is
Ancient humans must have seen kino night skies with no light pollution
>>746051663Even the left is a completely unseen sight for most people
>>746051841not really , other way around actually
>>746051841No, that's what looking at the black void with barely any stars does. Seeing this shit would be cozy as fuck. How can you look at that and think "abloo all is so pointless :(("
>new smartphones have AI filtering and upscaling built into the camera so every single bit of beautiful reality captured going further will be altered right out of the gate>in the future it will be fundamentally impossible to know if you are looking at actual, real beauty or something fake
>>746050692This thread is just /vpol/, but Quake.
>>746051841No, exact opposite, but it does make you realize how petty and stupid most human created issues are.
>>746050692Skyrim
>>746052005>>746052045>>746052175Literally nothing humanity accomplishes matters. One day earth will be just another barren rock like the other quadrillion barren rocks in space.
>>746052330according to you?
>>746052330Who are you trying to convince bro? Smell the roses, pussy.
>>746052330Why does that mean it doesn't matter? Tomorrow will come, does that mean today means nothing? That game you are playing will end, does that mean it's not worth playing?
I was like 25 when I learned that galaxy is something we are supposed to see and not just vidya thing
>>746050920This is what they took from you>>746050692Space Engine
The actual answer is Arma 3
>>746052623kek, it's actually insane how shit and boring the sky looks like in any urban setting
>>746052623I didn't learn that the southern hemisphere has inverted seasons compared to the north until I spoke to an Australian in my early 30's.
>>746050920All according to the plan. I hate the anti-christ.
>>746052997I'm not living even in big city but in suburbs of small one
>>746052997I will never understand cityfags in general.
>>746053106Compared to 100 years ago even the most literally who suburb of some backwater town is essentially a metropolis when it comes to light and infrastructure
is the doomer mindset a strictly millennial thing? like damn boi
>>746053761I don't know but speaking entirely in meaningless buzzword salads is certainly a zoomerism.
>>746051663I come from rural nowhere up north and the left is pretty accurate, but it is more colorful than that.
>>746050692>muh starsI'd rather have safe streets
>>746052079Smartphones have been doing this with faces since the mid 2010's
Nothing beats going into rural bumfuck nowhere, fire going and a cold one cracked open as you sit back and look into the sky. Wait this thread inspired me maybe I will make a camping game. No maps unless you find one in-game, you use a compass and have to rely on landmarks. You can run into other people camping and just chill. Maybe it's a bit ambitious but fuck it.
>>746054405so basically just firewatch?
>>746050692https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/1149
>>746054405I had a totally super original idea from playing Voices of the Void after walking in a park for a job simulator game where you play as a ranger in a fire watch tower as a shitload of randomized spooky crap happens.
>>746054467>firewatchYeah, but it's multiplayer in a online world that maybe reset every week or so. There really is no other objective other than to simulate comfy outdoor camping. Where you may or may not run into another person.>>746054537Sounds comfy spooky games usually have more value as time goes on.
>>746054210Good goy, hope they install one of these cancerous overly bright and cold walmart lights right next to your windows.
>>746050920You have to get up pretty high to see something like this, and no light or air pollution. I was about 4km up a mountain. The sky was completely full of stars, they had color and some were twinkling, and the milky way was enormous. Literally would kill anyone one of you to see it again, and would recommend anons try to see something like it at least once >Pic related isn't mine, but pretty close to what I saw
>>746050920I've seen it numerous times at Big Bend National Park in Texas. It's just not THAT bright in the sky, definitely camera over exposure.
>>746050692fun fact: after eye laser surgery you can't see any stars anymore
>>746055480I believe it
>>746055480This sounds like bullshit but medicine and surgery practices are so kiked I kind of believe it
>>746055702i did a quick goolgle search and it's true kek
>>746055668>>746055702>>746055785beats not having to wear glasses anymore
>>746055978hell no
>>746055785:^)
>>746055978Does it though
Never seen that but there’s very regular northern lights where i live to the point it gets boring and i barely even notice them anymore
>>746050692Modded Skyrim
>>746056106>>746056202it does to me
>>746050692Valheim
>>746055978No, it doesn't. Not to mention if you can't see stars there must be other unreported details you can't see anymore either. Absolute hylic.
>>746057587what gaem?
>>746052330Earth was and will be a barren rock for what would subjectively feel like infinite amounts of time. It was and will be space dust for an incomprehensively longer amount of time. We can only theorize beyond that.Yet, you live here and now. You have a chance to see it all and do something with it. Who knows, maybe we'll get off this rock one day and humanity will survive longer than you expect.
>>746057702ground control 2
>>746050920I've seen it once, and as >>746055057 said, is not as big as it appears in all those pictures, and not as bright either.
>>746057789holy kinography
Trying to think of an old racing game that has these big starry skies. Maybe by Sega?
minecraft
>>746054210You gotta wonder what's making these streets unsafe in the first place?
>>746051020>daylight on demandModern tech golems need to be slaughtered
>>746055480why did you make this up brot. eye surgery can still see stars and satellites and shi
existence makes no sense
>>746052330How can you see a barren expanse of nothing and not realise our one defiant rock is more precious than words can ever portray?
>>746050920Nobody has. that's an exposure photo
>>746050920get on a transatlantic cruise boat
>>746061201*sees billions of boomers with bright phone camera flashes*
>>746050692I grew up in the 90s and while I never saw skies quite like this you could absolutely see way many more stars at night than you can now that's what happens when you import millions of jeets and they have to throw up apartment buildings everywhere for them
>>746050692This was never visible to the naked guy, eyes. It's long time exposure (plain as that. You knew). Go to a mountain, see the milky way, lots of stars, yeah. But OP pic is not human per emotion, is a camera shutter left open for some time.
>>746062759>the naked guyI wonder what you were thinking about.
>>746063091kek
>>746050920it doesn't look like that lol
>>746063621So he's right he's never seen it
>>746050692space engine I guess
