It is strange to me that Three Houses captured so many people the way it did when it's just a typical Fire Emblem game, even in the writing. The most noteworthy thing about the game, at least for me, is how certain aspects are turned into micromanaging, like promotion and weapon ranks, which makes the gameplay feel slower to me. Being able to make everyone whatever you want is sorta neat, but sorta lame. Felix is clearly a swordmaster autist, but you could also make her a lance unit or a light magic user, but the intended purpose is swords. It's like making a character like Karel, but you could make him wield axes. It grinds my gears.

For someone who didnt play any of fire emblems and got a switch 2, but not that fond of any available switch 2 titles. This game actually peeked my interest. The only thing remotely closed to it that i have played is various Heroes of Might and Magic games. As I understand Fire Emblem have some sort of story and many kingdoms and then you have various battles where you can deploy and upgrade troops? Is this game linear or is there choices?
