So which 2026 Survival Horror game is your favourite so far?
Finally doing my second playthrough of Ground Zero on Very Hard combat and Extreme Deathwish Riddles, this game has tons of secrets and stuff and I think I will find barely any of them honestly.
i notice a lot of survival horrors have the protagonist holding the gun on their cover maybe they could try a more peaceful image instead?
Shockface is coming out in a few days.https://store.steampowered.com/app/4705980/SHOCKFACE
>>746057275I only recently beat Ground Zero. I got an E rank. I'll probably play it again later but I didn't love it. I thought the cutscenes went on far too long. Holy shit do they love to talk. The boat section while neat looking was a headache. The music might as well have not existed I can't remember any of it besides the title screen. I want to use the Peacemaker I unlocked but it one shots everything so say goodbye to any challenge if you use it. 7/10 would play again.
>>746057275I only played Ground Zero. I enjoyed it.
Survival horror peaked in 2025 with Silent Hill f.
>>746057275Is Wicked Sneed good? I bought it but never played it.
>>746059124It had a better semblance of a plot than other games. Not that I remember it at all, but I do remember being like: hmmm they both are making good points about nuking this city or using a giant space laser instead. It was funny as fuck when the korean asked the canadian if he knew how giant space lasers worked.
>>746060276That game sucked
Bump
Is Cronos the New Dawn any good? I'm deciding on wether to play that or the Sinking City 2.
>>746062796sinking city costs too much
Crisol is the only one I playedit was cool
>>746060164same, I have to do another run to make different route choices
Clawed was DOA. always a shame when games get worse from their demo instead of better
>>746057817no I give up I don't care about this enough to die every five minutes we're switching it to easy/easy mode and I just want to see the hospital I'm probably not even playing past that part.
>>746062796Don't bother with Sinking City 2
>>746065359actually this might be smarter anyway, I still need to find zodiac coins and I already found one near the start where in a normal playthrough I would have just sprinted by there to save ammo. A nice leisurely stroll through the game might be just what I need.
>>746060312It actually got a ton of combat depth and builds. But the hardest difficulty is just shotgun only or suffer.
>>746060324As the game came to it's conclusion I just found myself thinking "God get on with it" with each new cutscene I encountered. Maybe I just don't know how to have fun anymore I dunno. Still don't regret buying the game and doing a NG+ on the hardest settings does interest me. It's full of replay value if you like unlockables. And credit where it's due, the alternate costumes are shown in the cutscenes. I hate it when games don't do that.
>>746066823I thought they might be going for "idiotic north american who thinks he can just use a mining space laser with no technical know-how is a colossal fucking moron" plotline. Of course a soldier doesn't know how that works. It's video game logic. At one point you see a hollywood green screen and they play an entire video from a fake movie but the movie studio doesn't seem to have any purpose whatsoever. I thought they were going to reveal that the video tape that you got from the obviously untrustworthy secret agent slut was fabricated and using the giant space laser was a bad idea.but that never happened.
House of Velez remake release WHEN?!
>people are still getting confused about Wicked Seed
>>746065631I made it to the hospital.
>>746070218Even the name makes it sound like porn
>>746057275house of necrosis
>>746073315inspired by not not quite truly survival horror. i don't think board games can be scary
got any recs for horror games from the last ten years to pick up for fall? I just don't have it in me to do hours long search to check most of the stuff on steam.
>>746074167he specifically said horror which means Ghost at Dawn. Really, this stopped being about horror a long time ago. It's just 3D metroidvanias with a gothic theme. Which is fine. I like metroidvanias. But Ghost at Dawn actually went for terror.https://store.steampowered.com/app/2153190/GHOST_at_DAWN/
>>746057275Ground zero
>>746072794a brain too small to consider things in any terms besides sexual.
>>746073983>i don't think board games can be scary>You stepped on a trap!>It's a monster house!!Heartrate suddenly jumped because of the immediate threat of losing everything. For me this counts as horror and as such house of necrosis is a horror game
>>746075271monster house is pretty funny. most games won't do that deliberately unfair stuff anymore.
>>746075271by that metric a pokemon nuzlocke can be a horror game
>>746075271also it came out in 2025 which you might find a rather compelling reason not to be included in a list of 2026 games.
