I hate that the game forces you to play the fool even when you could figure out that the assassination orders were compromised. The handwriting was different, the writing was different, it was more emotional instead of the usual cold practical instructions, and the dead drop locations became more dangerous for no reason.There should have been an ending where you could go back to Lucien and ask him what's up

>>746077117Having replayed Oblivion, that might've been their actual last attempt to keep making an RPG with actual rpg mechanics and not just window dressing on a mediocre fps game. Race/Class combinations really do matter, and the birthsign can either be a major boon or just something that makes the leveling curve a little easier. Most quests still leave some wiggle room for finding alternate solutions or unintentionally completing them early if you already met the requirements. It's also strangely refreshing to play a fantasy game where you're the hero and the game actually follows through on the rest of the world acknowledging that with each major storyline quest being completed. Somehow not even a demonic invasion can keep the uplifting mood of the game from dimming too much. Though after the twentieth Oblivion gate I was done doing that shit. Doubly so that I was around level 25+ and it's almost nothing but Spider Daedra, Xivilai, and the higher ranking Dremora. Fuckers are some of the worst enemies in the game and every gate is full of them.
