How come Intel became such a joke after all those years of being the king?
I mean, if you want a PC for gaming AMD is the only way to go now.

at this point nvidia drivers are the shit ones

>>
Both had crazy breakthroughs with Intel being generally better, but then Intel seemed to reach the end of their development branch and that was that.
AMD chips improved, slowly, when the gap was never massive to begin with, and Intel on paper still kept up but only by throwing greater and greater wattage at the problem. It got so bad that they split the god damn cores into the ones that actually worked and weak ass idle cores so that it wasn't melting your PC just being on. Then even those performance cores started to score lower in benchmarks
To be fair AMD has a similar problem now, just not as bad as they're able to get a bit more performance per watt.
>>
>>746073040
>youre falling for literal FUD nigga
The problems I've heard about are where Windows decides to overwrite your more recent drivers with old drivers from their repositories.
>>
What's the alternative? I want to keep using Nvidia cards because AMD is still more annoying to use in comparison, and Intel plays nicer with that
>>
>>746070336
most people are complete technological retards who has no idea that intel is faster in plenty of scenarios. benchmarks between 9800x3d and 14900k are conducted in a clean benchmark environment that perfectly favors an 8-core CPU. but in an actual environment that people really play games on, 14900k wins because tons of cores for clean scheduling.

Fuck off retard Ryzen was never good.

Intel has/had quicksync, better single thread performance across the board, basically always included an iGPU which was awesome for debugging hardware issues, and AMD didn't have Simultaneous Multi threading until 2017 after I tel CPUs had already had it for 15 years lmao.

The extended L3 cache on the X3D CPUs combined with being the discount option is what made AMD the top dog in recent years but Intel has always been the premium brand.

Also I don't know what your post is talking about, the 14900k has never been pulled from sale - there was an issue with a small batch near launch, they're all good now. Right. Intel just had the power of marketing. AMD was genuinely always better priced at great performance. Same with ATi graphics.
>>
>>746074606
The 9800x3d is just considered a really good price:performance option right now. People used to recommend the i5 2500k constantly. It wasn't because of boogaloo fanboys, it was because AMD were shit at that point. Previous to that you had a bit more contention between the Q6600 and Phenom II x4. Unfortunately you will always have paid actors trying to pretend the worse product is the one you should go for - I still remember people trying to claim the FX 8150's true potential would be unlocked any day now! Shills are faggots and saboteurs.

>The 9800x3d is just considered a really good price:performance option right now.
These days it's the same price as the 14900k / 13900k which outperform it in most scenarios. 9800x3d / 9950x3d does well in benchmarks but in real usage people have browsers, discord, OBS, etc. open so you need more than 8 cores. Having anything scheduled on the same cores as a game causes massive FPS and frametime losses for obvious reasons. It doesn't even need to be a significant load. The advantage of Intel is the secondary processes all run on the 16 E-cores, leaving the 8 P-cores clean for a modern DX11/DX12 game that uses 8 cores.

Ryzen also has all kinds of weird oddball problems like USB dropouts, or what >>746075050 mentioned (which is not a new CPU problem but a Ryzen / X3D thing.) Another example of a game that doesn't run well on Ryzen is Quake 3 / CPMA / Quake Live - people are always complaining their new X3D chip doesn't work in those games

the 13900k/14900k are monolithic. you don't know what monolithic means.
the p-core/e-core architecture works great and has less scheduling troubles than 9950x3d's "only one CCD has x3d" retardation that makes it even worse than 9800x3d in games
