I picked up this plastic piece of shit and an evercade game because had 90 bucks to burn and I felt a crippling nostalgia for plugging carts into a handheld that felt like a handheld and not a giant smartphone.

Atari was maybe the wrong choice because most of their library has aged like ass but it was my favorite color and it was this or the NeoGeo.

>Why not just emulate
I do fucking constantly, I just kinda miss physical collections and it's kinda cool to grab a cart and discover some obscure fucking shit that never came to the US.

Figured I'd ask if anyone else had tooled around with this shit and ask if anyone had any carts they'd recommend other than "buy the NeoGeo ones" because yeah no fucking shit.

Yeah, the real good shit was Intellivision.
Can't go wrong with Missile Command, Solaris or Dark Chambers. Or any of the arcade system games.

There's collections of Duke Nukem, Tomb Raider, Banjo-Kazooie, Glover, etc... cant go wrong with those.

never bought any evercade shit but I know it has a port of Goodboy Galaxy and that's one of my favorite games.

It's actually got all of those. Missile Command, Crystal Castles, and Millipede are probably the only 2600/Arcade games that have aged super well, [there's also Berserk/Frenzy but they only just bought that shit] but the 7800 line up on this thing is actually pretty boss. 7800 Centipede, Desert Falcon, Fatal Run, Alien Brigade, and Dark Chambers fucking rules.

It's got...some playable Lynx games too, though the refusal to put a single of the Lynx's "best" games, slim as that is, kinda blows, especially since Atari's library is threadbare as fuck as it stands so fattening this thing with 3 versions of fucking Asteroids and 2 versions of Missile Command instead of like, Slime World or the like was pretty questionable.

Yeah, Duke and Tomb Raider are a given. Might grab Banjo but desu Glover is more likely since I figure I'm gonna get more of the variety carts.

I think there's also a Rareware collection with some of their Nes and Speccy games plus Conker's Pocket Tales, may be cool to get it too, I know there's Capcom, SNK compendiums and I believe Data East & Taito have collections too.
I think Soul Reaver is also on it?

Got the Evercade VSR and the Banjo-Kazooie super pocket. Also have a nexus coming in October. I only got this stuff because of the new 60fps ports of Banjo, which I only really need for Tooie because that doesnt have a recomp yet. I just really like Banjo. Also best the BK port on super pocket twice. Played fine with d-pad, but ill definitely be using analog controls on the cartridge release. I like the evercade ecosystem, the company seems to really be passionate about game preservation and availability. Hope they do Conker next.

IIRC the Rare SuperPocket has Banjo 1 and Conkur's pocket tales, yeah. Debated it but desu with you I was never a Rare-fag, played Spyro and Mario growing up as my main platformers.

I accidentally ordered Piko Interactive Arcade 1 because I got it mixed up with Collection 1 [only for them to leak that they're reprinting PIC1 soon] and while its selling point as a cart is "I have two Street Fighter Clones" it's alright, just not the RPG and platformers I was counting on to kinda balance out the arcade heavy Atari line up built in.

Controls though are pretty solid? I'm kinda confused why they have a downgraded D-pad on the fucking super pockets, it's big enough to fit the one they use on their controllers and other consoles, and I can't imagine it would cost that much more desu.

The one it had is alright, but it's kinda like they cut corners ever so slightly in every area to avoid having to compromise any single aspect too much.

Tbh I'd fucking murder someone for a fucking Game Arts or Atlus cart. They put Duke on here tits and all so uncensored english ports of SMT 1, 2, and If would be fucking amazing.
