Post them.
More than lost it just tells me that no one here plays a enough variety of games to not see these in them, but at least a couple i haven't seen in a long time but i don't play that much variety myself.

>>746079392>New game with autistic detail.>Wow, shrinking horse balls? What a waste of resources! why not focus on actually important stuff?>Old game with autistic detail.>OH! Lost technology! where has this SOVL gone in modern gaming? They truly cared back then!
>>746082332I have not seen anybody complain about the details in RDR2.
>>746082429Must be your first day on the internet then, welcome.
>>746082798People like to fuck around on the net for funz, just so you know.
>>746082510is this really why cities in old games feel very vibrant and lively compared to cities in newer games?
>>746079392A lot of artistic flair was lost when gamers rejected fixed camera angles.
>>746083191you can blame kojima for inventing the camera
aherm
>>746080089lmao, I almost spilled my tea
This still confuse AAAA games nowaday.
>>746079448no, you don't understand its baked, its baked. please buy our $2000 graphics card so you can raytrace it which is better trust me
>>746084343The fan does nothing.
>>746082332That's because RDR2 is a boring repetitive game that still uses the same gameplay loop from 2005 rockstar, so every time someone sees a "impressive detail", is just the game putting more salt to the wound. If they've spend less time on the horse balls and more on making the game fun, people wouldn't call this shit out.

You can't understate how impressive Halo 2 was on a technological level in 2004. new physics engine, new renderer, new game mechanics, all new models and textures (except ammo pickups and the banshee mesh). stencil shadows.>Halo 2 - 2002 X02, the official Xbox trade showhttps://youtu.be/luhXojiSVC0?si=sugXRlwxPs9wdLl1>Halo 2 E3 2003https://youtu.be/QEgBlUxm128?si=d12GISXRdIyQDgec >Halo 2 Cinematics DVD (Story written and directed by Joe Staten)https://youtu.be/0ZeuyWZxaFk?si=H0Dfkm0c0UljzMSU >Halo 2 in 720p HD on the Original Xboxhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_nk21389u8 >H2EK has Higher fidelity bump maps (found in H2EK files or were previously used in MCC) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3361280895>pstencilthere is no remaining tech in the rendering pipeline from Pstencil. it was all gutted and replaced with a new system. the shadows you see in the arbiter missions, cutscenes etc. are shadow maps. A very rushed and simple shadow mapping system with very low-quality results.
>>746082332>>746084863>amazing technology!!!>it's just a 3D object shrinking
RTXbros...did we get swindled into buying 4k GPUs for nothing?
>>746085624>Oh yeah they climb out of the window in Watch Dogs that's cool>Then Sleeping DogsFucking kek
>>746080114>Normal maps>Dynamic shadows/lighting >High poly models Gaming didn't need to advance past this
>>746085624This is such a surreal, 4th wall breaking interaction it hurts your brain thinking about it. Its as if the playable character is being controlled (by you the player) against their will but they are aware of this. They have been trapped in their car, forced to exit it, but their limited autonomy will not allow them to repark and exit normally so they are forced to kick out the windshield, a completely unnecessary action for someone not under mind control by an intangible god.
>>746087850It didn't.
>>746082332>god rays and tasteful pseudo-dynamic shadowing and detailed heavily stylized background with small animated details trying their best to create an impression of a fictional yet functional world that looks nothing like realism>vs literal horse ballsI never doubted that half-evolved primates have zero taste. No other creatures could unironically enjoy and defend modern AAA games.
