The Demifiend boss is straight up bullshit
>complaining about a superboss>complaining about a superboss from a series known for consistently having the hardest superboss (Demi)negro, please.
I found it amusing they tried in the second version to add 2 new superbosses as ultimate challenges to be harder than him. And they're still nowhere near harder than him. They couldn't do it even when they tried.
Doing a Godborn run of SMTV now, what are some builds to use that aren't just generic STR of MAG Bino?
Whenever Demifiend isn't on screen, everyone should be asking "Where's Demifiend?"
>>746080004Satan has a somewhat specific rulebook you have to play into or you get fuckedMasakado is a bitch though
I started it a couple days ago on hard and it was fairly easy until I got to the werewolf boss in the second area who just feels like a stat check because even with debuffed evasion he still dodges constantly (agility stat diff) and even when he doesn't crit he still OHKOs guarding demons (HP / vitality stat diff).
>>746081261Just get phys resist demons, debuff his attack, use dampeners for the big thing, keep Accuracy Down at full, etc.
>>746079720Demifiend is a jobber in this game. Now DDS Demifiend on the other hand, THAT'S a fucking triple nigger.
>>746081168Lck maxing Ailmentbino with a party of Chasers (Mastema/Pale Rider/ Eiseth/Marici/etc.) This one is the most fun IMOVitmaxing Bino with support spells i.e. revival chant, lunation flux, Evergreen Dance. This is actually the strongest build in the game, because Bino can be a better support than a fighter, but it feels the most boring since you don't contribute anything and just become the Vending Machine Agimaxingbino spamming low accuracy skills and Lunar Hurricane. This build is actually super fucking OP paired up with feast demons, but it's not so good on Godborn because enemies have inflated stats and Lunar Hurricane runs on the difference of agillity so you need to eat a shit ton of balms to make it work.
>>746080004Masakado is much harder than Demifiend in SMTVV, but Demifiend in SMTV vanilla is the hardest either game has to offer.
>>746081386He's basically the same in DDS, you just have less tools to deal with himThat and the stupid Null Sleep requirement thing
>>746081429Masakado is shut down hard by makarakarn + taunt on a single demon immune to phys. He's one of the easiest superbosses in the entire series.
>>746081389I kinda like the vending machine idea, especially since I'm using the female bino mod this time and it fits thematically.
Atlus have never been great at designing superbosses lol... They always require cheese or a super specific strat. Strange Journey Redux is the game I always think of since it basically screamed "use pc code demons" to clear since any normal team gets walled or almighty spammed
>>746079720Just bought this, will play it once I'm done with Control. Is putting all my points in STR the best build? Or do I need any points in VIT and AGI as well? Also, is Hard really that fucked? Should I do my first playthrough on Normal?
>>746082689>STR the best build?STR and MAG are pretty equally viable>do I need any points in VIT and AGIYes, especially AGI if you want to actually hit anything.>is Hard really that fucked? It's definitely not the hardest game in the series, but if you're not familiar with SMT/Persona games in general then you should probably stick to Normal for your first run.
>>746081429>>746082529Difficulty aside, the realization that a superboss can have all weaknesses and still feel overpowereda at first is great.
>>746082814>Yes, especially AGI if you want to actually hit anything. So can someone tell me the actual build? I was thinking either ALL STR or 2:1:1 STR/VIT/AGI, which one makes more sense? I don't want to spread too thin though.
>>746083048You get plenty of points to play with, and there's infinite farmable items to increase your stats if you really want to grind it out, though it's absolutely unnecessary for anything but superbosses.Luck is also pretty great on STR builds if you use multi-hit attacks. Also at the start of the game, choose NOT to save the girl to play the original (worse) story first, then choose to save her in run 2. Otherwise you'll be very disappointed.
>>746083146Ehhhh, not sure if I want to play this twice, so I'll probably play the Vengeance route first. On normal. Then if I end up really loving it, then I'll play vanilla on hard, I guess. But seriously though, assuming no stat grinding, what stats do I prioritize on a physical build? I've read that the game gives you points in all stats automatically on each level up, so you're fine with just pumping STR. And if you're an autist you can grind everything to 999 in the end game/NG+. But I won't be grinding.
>>746082689Dude, just play the game. Even if you put all your points into Mag and then used STR builds, you'd still be fine for 99% of the game. Just start on Hard until you get to Hydra boss and see how it feels, then puts points in where you feel lacking as you go.
>>746082689>is Hard really that fucked?Like a lot of SMT games, the beginning is going to be the hardest. The first boss took some of grinding for me to comfortably take on. But I did realize later I could've played the fight much better at a lower level. Once you unlock more features and ways to get stronger, the difficulty smooths out and is pretty fun.
>>746079720I spent several hours trying to beat the fucker and never could, so I never even finish the game. I did a little bit of grinding but not too much, put stuff like Repel, Absorb, Resist on every single of my minions and still couldn't beat him.Usually when the Demifiend gets his attack repelled once he starts using only wide area Allmighty, which fucks everyone up in one sweep, so I tried taking advantage of the stupid Ai and circle around each of my minions but then the fucks start full healing himself... Fuck that shit bruh. Half an hour to bring down his health and then in 1 second he's full health again? Bullshit. And it takes so much time because you have to be constantly killing his minions too, you know?
>>746082608Are you using the mod in a canon compliant way? It always annoys me how no one does this.
>>746086016>using the mod in a canon compliant wayI genuinely have no idea what this could even mean.
>>746079720Just go murder Satan and then 3 turn kill Demi-Fiend when you're level 150 with your stats in the 300+ range. Satan is easy with a Luminescent Mirage setup and Beelzebub.
>>746079720I found him to be easier than Satan
>>746086302It means sticking to the design rules. The demon is the body of the Nahobino but whoever is the face is the one in control. It's the same reason Dazai fused and got a pair of massive tits. If the MC is female, the Nahobino is still Aogami's male body. You would change the voice (there is a mod for that) but that's all. You still can't change the cutscene videos though sadly. I wonder if someone could pull the files and run them through AI to edit the player model that way, or are the cutscenes too long? Hmm.
Why is demifiend so forced? He is canonically not even strong enough as Lucifer since he becomes one of his generals. SMT1 hero kills LuciferSMT2 hero can kill Lucifer and GodSMT4 hero can kill Lucifer
Finished CoV Chaos yesterday. Final boss was a bit anticlimactic. Don't really have the motivation to do any other ending, I hate NG+. Game was pretty good thoughIs there a mod to add back Kaneko Lilith? There's one that adds her but also seems to add a bunch of other shit but I only want to restore the lost content from vanilla
>>746086820Look man, I already played the story. I just made the school version an unassuming flat and tall schoolgirl + the Nahobino forms as big titty power rangers, and then added those voice + text replacers. If there was a mod for it or if I could be bothered I'd just have the schoolgirl version for all the battle forms too desu.
>>746086978Well you said you didn't know what I meant so I explained it.
