I've hit my breaking point trying to hunt for perfect rabbit and squirrel pelts.

I'll just breeze through the missions without interacting with any of the game's mechanics. That's the way this game is meant to be played.
>>
I didn’t know the game had different endings, so when it asked if I wanted to help John Escape or get the money, I was like duh John lives so what does it matter? Oof

You can't manage to get perfect pelts of the most common animals in the game?

I'm convinced there is some kind of mass psychosis surrounding this game and all the retards calling it an 11/10 while aucking it off with both hands.
It's thr most "nothing" "game" i have ever "played". It's literally gta with horses but more gay and boring.
>>
I'm afraid your attention span is too low for rabbit hunting, anon...
Why don't you try clearing a bandit hideout while staring at Subway Surfers gameplay on the side? That should be enough to stimulate your neurons (hopefully)
>>
>>746082974
Any game that requires you to actually play it and entage with it is anti zoomer.
Zoomers only love games they can watch other people play and pretend they experienced them.
>>
>>746083206
I believe there's a mass psychosis in the other direction, that people here over-hate it because it's popular and Reddit loves it
>>
>>746083268
90% of the current nu-vee anon don't play vidya, this is just edgy poser central. I bet OP didn't even play RDR2, this is just some talking point he picked up on the internet somewhere.

what browns don't get is that frontier tales don't have to be like a greaseball western. the frontier was forged by white christian ideals and moral purity. watch little house on the prairie (the original series), it's a much more realistic frontier tale than any greaseball western.

Rdr2 is best enjoyed by interacting with the world. The story is there but ideally you want to stop at chapter 2 and just live in the world. 90% of games dont need an open world but RDR2 stands out as a game with a fully interactive fleshed out world where you can live life as a cowboy and rp a bit

I don't give even half a shit bout what plebbit thinks when I play a game. It's annoying, tedious, unresponsive and the main quests are boring shooting galleries. There. Do I need to check reddit's global opinion whenever I want to make my own?
>>
This game showed why we actually don't want hyper realistic games with animations for fucking everything, it's boring and drags on and on and on

God don't tell me they made a remake. The show's so good even the most anti American Muslims love it because of the good heart of the show and christian values.

A new version released on Netflix recently. It somehow looks even cheaper than the original TV adaption and it's full of subversive shit.

Guy lacks the capacity to approach the game at it's level (It wants you to do things slowly) and thinks that's not his own problem. Not everything has to be for everyone, but if you didn't enjoy it that doesn't mean it wasn't successful in what it set out to do. You definitely wouldn't like anything like Death Stranding. Don't even try Kingdom Come. I heard Marvel Rivals is pretty nice to look at. Zenless Zone Zero if you like anime titties specifically. I think a new Call Of Duty has a beta going on.

It's a great game in spite of itself. The 'game' part of it is really very mediocre. The horse mechanics are a stand out, they really nailed the horse riding, but the gun play is very standard, even though really visceral and fun to experience and the mission structure is so fucking worn out before you even start...
But the presentation is flawless. Everything about the game world is perfect. It's a vibe. You're either content just riding around, soaking it in, hunting, gathering herbs, exploring, or you're not.
It's one of my favourite games ever and I've only played through the main story once.

If they'd actually spent as much effort as they did on presentation in actually designing compelling mission structures and gameplay mechanics, it would have been something truly special. I think GTA VI will be the same deal: great presentation, game world and 'technology' partnered up with a serviceable gameplay element and the same old mission structure for 100+ missions.

The problem with RDR2 is that you can't really open up the gameplay whilst having such a sprawling epic of a storyline because the ludo narrative dissonance just blows the whole thing apart.
That's something they could have rectified with the online, which I was hoping they would... Basically, create a full on RPG set in the RDR2 world but it became apparent very quickly that all they were interested in was throttling the experience and funnelling players into spending money, trying to turn it into another GTA online money printer (which failed miserably obviously).

>The 'game' part of it is really very mediocre.
Why do you guys always define "game" as fast arcadey paced bing bing wahoo or over the top action? Why can't a game be deliberatley slow, and why can't that be in and of itself a good thing?
>>
>>746085005

Replying in full coherent sentences now draws accusations of AI. Jesus wept.

I play slow games and I'm not impeded in my enjoyment when the mechanics are good. I'm slowly grinding like a bitch to unlock the mud tires in snow runner right now. Also death stranding was pathetic and openly casual. I wouldn't be that cruel with it if kojima expanded on the exploration and mastery of hard to traverse terrain with improved physic in two, yet he did the very opposite because he's a hack.

>>746084917
It's to insist on your exaggerated attachement to the game leading you to cry about justified critics à son encontre.
>>
>>746083447
you literally didn't you poser piece of shit.
>>
>>746085047

I'm talking about the actual gameplay mechanics. I love the slow pacing, I don't love the barely serviceable shooting and cover mechanics. Half the problem is the game still being designed around auto-aim. You're not going to bother crafting fluid gun play when 99% of the fan base just has the game lock on for them.
Also 'game' as in mission structure. There's no choice, no room for creativity in your approach. You just ride to a place very strictly, any deviation is met with an immediate mission fail and then you shoot a bunch of guys and ride back. There's no option for you to tackle it as you want, you're just on rails essentially for 99% of the missions. Again, that's probably because the game is structured around a very dominant narrative experience, so the missions just serve to carry that forward but they could have opened things up for the online.
>>
>>746085095
>justified critics à son encontre
Those critics are built on deeming a certain playstyle as being inherently and arbitrarily bad.
What if I WANT to play a movie game where the story is set in stone? What if I want the vidya equivalent of watching a 5 season HBO show? What if I enjoy the roleplaying aspect of the game, the biome diversity, the interactive elements of the world, etc?

The 3 star system in RDR2 is ridiculous and goes a long way towards RUINING the game, I don’t say that lightly.

You can’t just ignore it too, it’s shoved in your face and ruins all atmosphere as you’re constantly scanning every peripheral piece of land and sky during every single A to B ride for this laundry list of animals in your head. I suppose I should be on the lookout for 5 cougars as well so I can kill them with a bow & arrow too.

RDR1 is so superior it makes me sick.
>>
>>746085156
Mom?
>>
>>746085267
And somehow all that cannot happen in a game with a more fluid/responsive gameplay and a mission design that won't give you a game over if you step away from the beaten path?
>>
I hate how in RDR2 you cant hide from the bounty hunters. I hide in a bush, then they just circle around my general area indefinitely until I'm forced to fight or run.
Yes, I know killing them is easy, but this system should be better. I should have the option to hide.
Cop and bounty hunter NPCs and their lack of variables and actions make the game so much less interesting. Ironically, cops have always been the worst part of Rockstar's games.

RDR2 is the reason I never buy games at full price anymore. I bought it day 1 and it was absolute trash.
