Now that WoTC are explicitly bringing other IPs into D&D, they should just make an official Pokémon × Dungeons & Dragons crossover already and call it Gyms & Gyratinas.Think about it. Gyms are just dungeons with a boss at the end. Badges are magic items that grant permanent benefits. Elite Four is a multi-stage dungeon crawl. The Pokémon League is a high-level tournament arc. Legendary Pokémon are basically ancient dragons/aberrations/celestials with region-wide influence. Team Rocket and the various evil teams are classic villain factions with hideouts, schemes, and mid-bosses.The systems already line up cleanly:HP -> Constitution / hit pointsAttack -> StrengthDefense -> natural armor / Constitution for toughnessSp. Atk -> Intelligence (or Charisma for the flashier specials)Sp. Def -> WisdomSpeed -> DexterityType matchups become vulnerability and resistance tables. STAB is just a fighting style or feat bonus. Mega Evolution and Dynamax are perfect for legendary actions or temporary power-ups. Trainers are the player characters; Pokémon are either companions, summons, or alternate forms depending on how deep you want to go.It would give D&D a fresh coat of paint without breaking the fantasy foundation, and it would give Pokémon actual tactical depth beyond “spam the super-effective move.” Both sides win. The only people who lose are the ones who treat “no crossovers ever” like it’s some sacred law of the universe.Gyms & Gyratinas. Someone at WotC or Game Freak needs to greenlight this before the idea gets buried under another round of “muh pure settings” cope.Bonus opening theme song:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbbxoXNunEk
