You guys need to understand, it's simply infeasible for Sony to continue with physical media due to the high costs of everything in the modern era. If they don't switch to digital only with PS6 consoles will actually die. A PS6 is likely going to cost $1200 to manufacture at minimum and they cannot release a console at that price point without it being DOA. Their best strategy then would be to release it at $899 (still too high of course but that's the lowest they can go) but then make up the loss with digital game sales. Digital only is the future in this economy, like it or not, so suck it up.
Why do people care about this so much? Just don't but it lol. Nobody is forcing you to consume the latest thing. You can still play your PSX/PS2 games. They still work. The PSX is stupidly easy to modify and play pirated CDs on, I have three of them.
