unironically this might be the best looter shooter right now. every mistake that usually plagues this genre is solved here

How does it compare to borderlands 1, 2, and 3 respectively?
For context, I've played 2 for at least a couple thousand hours, 1 for about 750-900ish hours, and 3 for about 40 hours

It has a god awful end game. That's the entire appeal of looter shooters, you're supposed to want to grind them out. But the bottomless buffet is boring as fuck, the upgrades are boring as fuck, it falls apart the moment you beat the game whereas that's when most looter games start.

Raiders kinda sucks as an ARPG. Mind you, I still think it's a fun game. But it actually fucked up the most important part aspect of the genre. The grind.

the biggest upgrade for me personally is that every weapon and every gadget is very distinct, and each upgrade to both is meaningful. they also all have their uses for certain stages, enemies and bosses. also co-op is solved really well where you can play on a different difficulty than someone else without issues, and everything you unlock/complete with someone in co-op carries over to your own save.

endgame is good actually but it's not endless right now since it's 1 month old.

It's literally enemies packed into single room boomer shooter arenas. I cleared the 100 stages to get to the extra boss and was bored out of mind for about 80 of those stages if not more. The extra 900 on top of that is not something I'd ever want to do and the loot caps way too low to be worth grinding all those stages.

The way the game is structured is dumb for the genre too. There's no NG+ and you're basically pushed into maxing out all 3 tank types on a single playthrough so there's no reason to make a new save to try out different builds. I got 37~ hours out of Raiders and that's why doing all 100 floors and beating the true final boss. That's bad for an ARPG where you go to do the optional end game area. I've got like 500 hours in Nioh 2.
