i actually really enjoyed it till the last act, you meet le bog standard druids and spend the rest of the game dungeon crawling through a clear race to the end. The power creep is still the same as dnd game though where your warriors can just plow through 95% of the encounters past level ten.
PoE1 is great. Don't play it in turn based mode. PoE2 is a slog, never finished it across 4 attempts.

The game tries to hand you the Silmarillion with no Hobbit or LotR, failing to realize even most people who like those would never be able to read the Silmarillion without passing out and there's a reason Tolkien chose not to publish it during his life. Deep lore is something fun to sprinkle in sparingly to give people a glimpse of there being something greater, but too much just robs the world of its mystery. It's a useful foundation for an author to have while telling a story but should never be a replacement for telling a story.

No. I really wish I could have liked it, but there's nothing good about it except the beautiful pre-rendered maps, which are wasted on the most boring trash encounters ever.The story huffs its' own farts. The characters are either undercooked or overdone. The gameplay was balanced to death. Proto-wokism permeates everything. If you played Troika games, you will think PoE is complete torture.
