I'm so autistic I always "justify" game conventions and mechanics. For example, when I played Warcraft 3 in my head I role play what brutes are talking about, what's their relationship with far seer and blademaster. The kobolds or murlocs they've slain had families, when I play humans I fantasize about how they're here on a mission and their girlfriends miss them.
In videogames, when I need to go to bed to heal while something important is going on the world, I unironically try to come up with reasons why i went to sleep instead of going asap. Like I got too exhausted or I got depressed and couldn't cope so I had to chill for one day. In Heroes of Might and Magic when huge stack dies I imagine in my head how they suffer and cry and get burned alive and how the general is being super stoic but still almost breaking at the sight of comrades dying
